Molybdenum is the chemical element with atomic number 42 and its symbol is Mo.
Molybdenum is a transition metal. In pure form it is silvery white in color. It is a very hard metal and among the elements it is the one characterized by one of the highest melting points. In small quantities it has a hardening effect on steel.
Molybdenum is important in plant nutrition and in biological systems it appears in some enzymes, including xanthine oxidase.
The use of molybdenum increased dramatically during World War II, when alternatives to tungsten had to be found to produce high-hardness steel.
Molybdenum is used in the manufacture of aircraft and missile parts, as well as in filaments and dental prostheses.
Molybdenum-based pigments have colors ranging from deep yellow to bright orange and are used in paints, inks and in plastic and rubber products.
Molybdenum is mined as a primary ore, i.e. molybdenum mines exist, and it is also recovered as a byproduct of copper mining. About half of all molybdenum mined in the world comes from the United States, where Phelps Dodge Corporation is the main supplier.
Molybdenum is an oligonutrient needed by many forms of life.
The foods richest in molybdenum are crucifers, legumes and certain cereals. In some animals, supplementing the diet with small amounts of molybdenum helps growth.
The giveaway
As always, participation in the giveaways of this collection is very simple. Just enter a comment with your WAX address in the comments of this article. Nothing more.
Molybdenum NFT has a max supply of 200. 100 pieces are dedicated to this giveaway divided as follows:
- 30 NFTs assigned to the fastest to comment on the article
- 70 NFTs assigned with an extraction among all the others who will comment on the article by April 4 at 16:00 CEST
We anticipate that for the next giveaway we will introduce something new: a third NFT assignment group, but as usual we leave you waiting to discover the rules.

The Periodic Table NFT project
The Periodic Table NFT project aims to raise awareness of chemical elements in a modern key, basing the approach on blockchain and Non Fungible Token.
Day after day it will be possible to know the single elements that make up the table, to collect curiosities about each of them and about the table in general.
We are working to be able to learn, in a playful way, also what happens by combining the various elements.
The whole project is based on the collection of NFTs that can be bought on the site https://wax.atomichub.io/market?collection_name=periodicelem&order=desc&sort=created&symbol=WAX or by participating in simple giveaways published on publish0x.
