First, How Do I Become an Author?
You can apply to become an author here.
- Applications are normally processed within 3 days, depending on workload.
- Not all applications that we receive and check can be accepted at Publish0x for various reasons. We reserve the right to determine which applicants qualify for authorship status.
- Any applications pending longer than a few days have most likely been rejected.
- Applicants that are accepted will be advised by email on how to proceed further.
- Applicants that are rejected may re-apply for authorship by submitting a sample of writing to the support team at [email protected] for reconsideration. Please also include the proper Publish0x username when contacting support.
1. What is the Difference Between a Blog and a Post?
When you become an author on Publish0x, in your dashboard you will notice that you can create both a blog, and a post.
Note: A blog is not a post. On Publish0x, blogs are containers for your posts. Think of a blog as a separate website, on which you publish posts. First, you need to create a blog before you can publish your posts within (or under) that blog.
You can create multiple blogs on Publish0x, and you can have a different theme for each of your blogs. For example, one blog can be about crypto projects you like, while another can be about showing your photography or poems.
Here are two examples of blogs I publish posts under. Notice that multiple individual posts are published under these blogs:
- Publish0x Contests Blog, with multiple posts published under this blog.
- Publish0x Official Blog, with multiple posts published under this blog.
Finally, if you visit my profile on Publish0x, you can see the posts I've published chronologically, no matter which blog they are published in.
Shortcuts.
- Create a blog from here.
- See all of your existing blogs from here.
- See all of the posts you've published or have in drafts, from here.
2. Working With Blogs: How to Add Other Authors to Your Blog(s), How to Transfer Posts Between Blogs and How to Delete a Blog?
2.1. How to Add Other Authors to Your Blog(s)?
Each blog on Publish0x can have multiple authors. Here's how to invite an author to join your blog:
Step 1. Navigate to Your Blogs from the Dashboard.
Step 2. Click on the "Edit Blog" button.
Step 3. Click on the "Edit Blog Authors" button.
Step 4. Write the Publish0x username of the author you are trying to invite.
PS. You can find the username of any author by asking them to check their dashboard. The name that is visible on this page next to the avatar is your Username.
Step 5. Finally, click on the "Submit Invite" button.
2.2. How to Transfer Posts Between Blogs?
To transfer a post between two blogs, you need to do the following:
Step 1. Navigate to Your Posts page which you can access from the Dashboard.
Step 2. Click the "Edit" button on the individual post you wish to transfer from one blog to another.
Step 3. Under the "Blog" dropdown menu which you can find near the bottom of the writers interface, choose a different blog for your post.
Step 4. Finally, save the post. It is now transferred to a different blog.
- Note: You need to be the owner or a contributor of a blog, before you can transfer your posts to, or from that blog.
2.3. How to Delete a Blog?
To delete one of your blogs, simply hit the "Delete Blog" button in the "Your Blogs" page that you can access from the Dashboard.
- Note: You can only delete blogs that have no posts in them. Before you delete a blog, transfer the posts from that blog to another blog, or unpublish all of the posts in said blog. Unpublishing the posts will make them accessible only to you, and to no other users.
3. How to Use Tags Efficiently?
Tags on Publish0x.com work a bit differently than on most other sites. Here's what you need to know.
3.1.1 Tags Decide Which Categories Your Posts Will Fit Into.
We suggest always tagging your posts with at least one tag. Your posts will be sorted in certain categories, depending on which tags you use.
- You can see which tags will fit you into which categories, here: https://www.publish0x.com/category/
- This is not a comprehensive list though, it's only meant to get you started.
- We encourage users to add more tags to their posts. Once tags are used enough times, we assign them to the corresponding category that we believe the tag fits in best.
3.1.2 Using Existing Tags.
If you see the "Press enter to select" text next to a tag you are about to use, it means that the tag has already been assigned to a category.
3.1.3 Adding New Tags to the Site.
However, if you see the text "Add this as a new tag" displayed on the tag you wish to use, it means that this particular tag is not assigned to any category on Publish0x.
- We still encourage you to use this tag! Once tags are used enough times, we assign them to the corresponding category that we believe the tag fits in best.
- If you want to use a tag and would like it to be assigned to a category by our admins, please write to [email protected] - we are accommodating here and appreciate the suggestions!
3.2. We Group Tags - Example: Tags 'Crypto' and 'Cryptocurrency' are the absolute same on Publish0x.com
Yes, we group tags. 'Bitcoin' and 'BTC' (and others like 'Bitcoin Halving' and 'Bitcoin Value') are all grouped together, and it does not make any difference which one you use. Using just one of the tags listed above is enough to get your post placed in the "Bitcoin Category" here.
Using any of these tags will get your post placed in the "Ethereum Category" here: Ethereum Crypto, Ethereum (ETH), ETH, Etherium, Ether, Ethereum Tokens, Ethereum Token, $ETH, Ethereum, $Ethereum ... and many others!
How to check this? Click on the tag you used, and see where it redirects to. If it's a "clean" URL without a random string of letters at the end, you're good to go! Tags which are used less often, are not grouped with other tags.
But that's not all - using any of the 'Bitcoin', or 'Etherum' tags, or tagging your post with the name of almost any token (like Chainlink, Polkadot, Binance, or even MyCrypto, Metmamask, etc... will also get your post placed in the "Cryptocurrency" category.
This means that if you tag your post with "Bitcoin", "Polkadot", "Chainlink", "Binance", "Ethereum" or with almost an cryptocurrency related tag, your post will also get placed in the main "Cryptocurrency" category. With this, there is no need to also use "Crypto" or "Cryptocurrency" tags on your posts as this will not increase the visibility of your post, and you can experiment with adding other tags.
Note of Warning.
Please use only relevant tags on your posts. If you are writing about 'Polkadot', 'Chainlink', or 'Binance', please don't tag your post with 'Bitcoin' or 'Ethereum'. As you see, this will not make a difference to the visibility of your post.
We reserve the right to remove the ability for an author to use tags at all, should this be abused.
4. Drafts, Published, and Unpublished Posts Explained.
4.1. Drafts.
You can find posts that you are working on currently, that have not yet been published, in the 'Drafts' section of Your Posts page. From here, you can further edit, save, and publish your posts, or delete your draft.
You can also see how the posts will look like once published, before publishing them.
4.2. Published Posts.
Once you're happy with your post and you've published it, you will find it in the "Published" section of Your Posts page. From here, you can still edit your posts, you can see post stats (vies and earnings over time), and if you decide, you can unpublish the post.
Unpublished posts will go in the "Unpublished" section of Your Posts page.
4.3. Unpublished Posts.
Posts that you 'Unpublish' will show up in the "Unpublished" section of Your Posts page. From here, you can edit your posts, you can see posts stats, and you can "re-publish" the post.
Note:
- Unpublishing a post is like deleting it, but you will still have the option to change your mind and publish the post again in the future.
- Posts that are 'unpublished' will not be accessible to anyone but you.
- Posts that are 'unpublished' and then 'published' again, will not show up under the /NewPosts category again.
