Arsenic is the chemical element with atomic number 33 and its symbol is As.

Gallium arsenide is an important semiconductor used in integrated circuits and photovoltaic panels. Circuits made from gallium arsenide are much faster, but much more expensive, than those made from silicon. Unlike silicon, they can be used in laser diodes and LEDs to directly convert electricity into light.
Arsenic trioxide has been used for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia in patients resistant to trans-retinoic acid therapy.
Arsenic trioxide is used in Australia as an agent for the disinfestation of homes from termites.
It is also used in the making of fireworks.
