"Every day God gives us a moment in which it is possible to change everything that makes us unhappy. The magical moment is the moment in which a yes or a no can change our entire experience" | Paulo Coelho
We all have headaches about how to achieve our dreams, keep looking for what we are passionate about, make what we believe will make us happy come true. We believe that our dreams will fix all of our current problems, not realizing that they only create new variations of the same problems that we are experiencing now.

This can be incredibly disappointing and leaves us feeling hopeless, sometimes wondering if it's worth moving on when we feel so defeated. We justify that we are extremely busy, when in reality we could find time to really work on your dreams if we wanted to, but breaking the routine, the comfort zone slows us down.

In fact, we could end up searching for our dream job longer than it really deserves. If I can give you one piece of advice, it is to keep an open mind and maybe part-time work will be enough to help you until you can pursue that dream. So when you find yourself stuck in a job that doesn't turn out to be what you expected, the best thing to do is consider it one more experience, come back and continue looking for that, the dream job.

Recruiters advise us to stay at your first post-college job for at least a year before making major changes. If you decide to leave the job before the one year mark, you are advised to stick with the next one for at least two to three years. Once you decide it's time to quit your job, you can take a few steps to make sure your next step is the right one.
"Only one thing makes a dream impossible: the fear of failure" | Paulo Coelho
Add to that training for new skills or getting a new college degree to improve your qualifications or the job search could be time consuming. The best reason to take a new job is to expand your knowledge and acquire new skills. First jobs for college grads are perfect for gaining valuable skills because you're learning from the best minds in the field (hopefully) taking that experience with you on the path to your dream career.

If you wanted to become a trader, a musician, a writer, maybe you should take a little time before you quit your day job. There are many small, achievable things you can do today, even while you work, that will put you in a better position to pursue your dreams. I can think of many people who are actively pursuing their dreams, even while working part-time and full-time.
"There are only two days in the year when nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other tomorrow" | Dalai Lama
The problem with quitting and throwing in the towel at your current job is that it can leave many in the lurch. Sooner or later, if all you're after is money, sooner or later you'll go back to feeling like the same person you were at your current job. Fall in love with the process, not the results. If your job is exhausting now, then there's no reason to suspect that it won't continue to be exhausting once you've made partners or run your own department or business.
Successful people who are already working at their dream job aren't doing it because they're so much more talented than you, oddly enough, while they were taking jobs, they were learning the skills they needed while pursuing some personal projects, and eventually started their own business.
"I have failed over and over again in my life. That is the main reason for my success" | Michael Jordan
