Hero Or Villain

"Our ruling classes have always ensured that the workers have no history, no doctrine, no heroes and martyrs. Each struggle must start anew, separate from previous struggles: collective experience is lost, lessons are forgotten. Satoshi Nakamoto is a name used by a purportedly pseudonymous individual or individuals that developed Bitcoin, wrote Bitcoins White Paper, and created and deployed Bitcoins initial reference implementation. Bitcoins White Paper. Many individuals have claimed to be Bitcoins founder, Satoshi Nakamoto, but none has proven their claims beyond doubt. Over the years, many claimants have stood on the throne of bitcoin, and there are dozens who have claimed the elusive bitcoin founder.

“What inspires me the most about Bitcoin is the community that drives it. It reminds me of the beginnings of the Internet. He's deeply principled, he's weird as hell, and he's always evolving. It just reminded me of the internet when I was a kid” | jack dorsey

There has even been some speculation that the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, was not one man, but rather a group of individuals that came together and invented Bitcoin. Another individual who many think may be Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto is late cryptographic pioneer Hal Finney, who was one of the first known individuals to use Bitcoin software. It is probable that Satoshis started working on Bitcoin before his alter-ego was even formed.

Gavin Andresen approached Satoshi in 2010 and became the Bitcoins right-hand man. Australian Craig Wright claimed in 2016 that he was Satoshi Nakamoto, a claim that Gavin Andresen confirmed, saying that he was 98% certain that Wright was the elusive Satoshi. Although Satoshi vanished from the internet in April 2011, the cryptocurrencys creator left a thin breadcrumb trail of evidence, in the form of e-mails exchanged with the bitcoins first developers, comments on online forums, and bitcoins original whitepaper.

Ten years after the rumblings about bitcoin emerged on the internet, there is still no conclusive lead on the identity of its creator, the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. Since then, the real creator has disappeared without trace, leaving a lot of questions as to the bitcoin inventors real identity. After a while, it became clear that Dorian Nakamoto and the bitcoin founders had little more than a similar name. The real creator did, however, leave a few more clues that may prove helpful when trying to identify his real identity.

All communications with and from Satoshi were done over the internet, and were done rather confidentially: His online personas lack any sort of personal background information that could tell anybody about the real identity behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto. Nakamotos identity is unknown, but speculation has focused on various experts in cryptography and computer science, mainly those who are not Japanese. In a March 6, 2014, highly publicized Newsweek article, reporter Leah McGrath Goodman identified Dorian Prentice as Satoshi Nakamoto, a Japanese-American living in California, who was born Satoshi Nakamoto, as Nakamoto. Although much speculation has been made about his creators identity, so far, all of the speculation has led to unconvincing stalls.
