Finally the new MLB season on Sorare is upon us. It starts on April 1st. The season on Sorare MLB kicked off on March 20 where the first players went to auction. The graphics of the cards have been changed and in my opinion improved. I remind you that Sorare is a fantasy sport (MLB, NBA, Soccer) based on the performance of players in reality. A team is set up and each player, based on real performance, gets a score. This score is added to that of the other players who have lined up in the team and this allows you to win other cards, prizes in ETH or coins (which allow you to order from the shop, real merchandising).

What are the major changes to the MLB season from last year? I will mention them in this article.
CHANGES APPLIED
-New graphics of the cards. Instead the card supply remains unchanged: up to a max of 5000 for limited, 1000 rare, 100 super rare, 1 unique (depending on the type of cards you own you can participate in different tournaments)
-New tournaments and therefore more prizes (division leagues have been added where it is possible to screen only American and only national players, this applies to both limited and rare leagues. Other specific tournaments will also be added during the various GW)
-Draft for the common (the commons are the free cards you start playing with when you sign up. Last year's ones have been eliminated from player accounts, now you have a budget of 120 points and form your team Even the common tournament, albeit free to play, allows you to win limited cards that you can resell on the market)
-Scoring change (scores for R, RBI, K, etc remain unchanged. -1 will be added for failed stolen base attempts and +5 to RP for each game they play. This change was made to limit cards like Strider, i.e. an SP that is deployed RP Strider had been minted SP/RP so he could be deployed in the RP role with a clear advantage: being an SP he scored 40/45 points in the RP slot when the others stopped on average to 15 points. Now with this change, in some circumstances the closers could reach even 30/35/40 points in the GW. Is it right or wrong? I believe that the change can make sense but 5 points per game played is a lot , IMO. You have to consider that Strider had exorbitant costs for that very feature, now the card has been depreciated)
-Coins (this feature has NOT yet been added but on their Medium they say that rewards similar to those in football will arrive, so it is assumed that they are coins. For each team you deploy, you earn coins based on the score you have achieved and this then allows you to redeem real merchandising: autographed shirts, caps, etc The coins system is already active in Sorare Football. It is not known if the coins earned on different sport will add up or if they are separate for each individual sport. My advice? Accumulate as much as you can and always field your teams, even the common! )
Users can use their Coins in the Club Shop, in order to redeem a range of rewards. Coins, which cannot be bought, sold or redeemed for cash or ETH, are a fun and important part of the Sorare club-building experience. Coins are earned in addition to competition rewards (such as Sorare cards, merchandising, tickets and VIP experiences). Please note that coins vary by league. Common tournaments (free to play) give less coins than limited ones and of course rare, super rare and unique ones. Thresholds for common league in Sorare Football (thresholds will be very different for MLB):
-New Partnerships (some MLB players are sponsoring Sorare. Last year the main sponsor was Aaron Judge. This year we find Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners and Juan Soto of the San Diego Padres. They too will play on Sorare. Hey, I think they won't spend much money, they won't make super teams, don't worry! :-)
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
I am anxiously waiting for the start of the new season, I consider these changes very positive for the ecosystem in general: new tournaments, coins and drafts for the commons. The only hesitation on the score change in progress that damages the holders of Strider and similar cards. It's going to be a great season on Sorare MLB and I hope one full of awards too! You don't love baseball and you're still out of Sorare? If you win 5 auctions, you get a Limited card with a variable value that you can resell on the market or field in your favorite tournaments. Remember that there are also two other fantasy sports: football and NBA!
