Weiss Crypto Ratings released its latest round of cryptocurrency rankings on August 6, and there are some surprises. Ratings take adoption, technology, market momentum and investment risk into account.
- Ethereum (ETH) ranks first, ahead of Bitcoin (BTC), Cardano (ADA) and Litecoin (LTC)
- Ethereum gets an ‘A’ and ‘A-’ for technology and adoption, and market performance respectively
- Bitcoin graded ‘A-’ and ‘C-’ for technology and adoption and market performance
- Weiss singled out Cardano, which recently launched its Shelley upgrade, as having the best technology
- Weiss considers Cosmos (ATOM), Fantom (FTM), Tezos (XTZ) and Ethereum to have strong technological base as well
- Ethereum also ranks first for market momentum and second for investment risk
- Weiss says it will update rankings as the market develops
