New York-based exchange Gemini has integrated with the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, according to a press release made on May 28. This means that users of the Samsung Blockchain Wallet can buy, sell and trade cryptocurrencies through direct integration with the Gemini mobile app.
“Helping bringing crypto to the fingertips” for users, the feature will only be available to users in the United States and Canada. Gemini becomes the first US-based exchange and custodian to partner with Samsung.
Tyler Winklevoss, co-founder of the Gemini exchange, highlighted the partnership as being part of a larger movement, saying,
Crypto is not just a technology, it is a movement. We are proud to be working with Samsung to bring crypto's promise of greater choice, independence, and opportunity to more individuals around the world. Now, Samsung Blockchain Wallet customers can buy crypto in a simple, elegant and secure way on Gemini.
Samsung has made a sizable push into the blockchain space, after first announcing in 2019 that its flagship Galaxy smartphones, from series S10 and up, would have a built in crypto-wallet. It has so far supported Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Enjin Coin (ENJ), Bancor Network (BNT), Binance (BNB), Kyber Network (KNC), wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and a host of stablecoins.
