Lately, our schedule has been quite hectic. Exams are coming up, and lots of other real-life work that needs to be assessed during this period has made our appointments not so regular, but we still try hard to keep up with the schedule. We want to apologise for the recent slight delays.

Suppose you are new here, well then welcome! Allow us to introduce ourselves! We are a bunch of friends that share the same enthusiasm for cryptocurrencies and eye-pleasing staff. We released our first NFT collection, the Happy Crypto Family, to celebrate our passion for crypto with the rest of the world.

The Happy Crypto Family NFT project is a series that celebrates cryptocurrencies in the cutest way possible. Expect to see many different cryptos, potentially your favourite ones as well, people that have influenced the industry, plus events that shook the exciting world of decentralised finance. We are confident that the result will be worth the wait!

The new member of the Happy Crypto Family that we will introduce today is Dogecoin the Playful!

Oh yes, Dogecoin a currency that you love to hate and hate that you love indeed. An accessible entry-level into the world of crypto Dogecoin started as a complete joke, and it evolved into the behemoth we know today! Wait, what now?

Dogecoin is an open-source, peer-to-peer digital currency, like Bitcoin, forked from Litecoin back in 2013. Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer created it as a “joke currency”, primary to be used as a tipping system on Reddit and Twitter to reward the creation of quality content. There is no hard cap on the number of Dogecoins that can be produced.

It is a light-hearted cryptocurrency that had a greater appeal beyond the core Bitcoin audience because of its logo of the Shiba Inu dog from the “Doge” internet meme. Great way to gain traction! Everybody loves the Shiba Inu dog internet meme, which is in part why Dogecoin is so successful and still around today.

Forward a little bit to 2019 Elon Musk tweets about DOGE for the first time: “It’s pretty cool”, he wrote. He proclaimed himself to be the former CEO of Dogecoin. The community graciously accepts it and declares him “DogeFather”. In January of 2021, investors from Reddit’s WallStreetBets forum band together and pump “memestocks” as well as Dogecoin leading to May 2021 with its all-time high of $0.72.

Now someone would validly ask how is it possible that something that started as a joke with zero value to be worth so much? Well, a simple answer would be while traditional old generation investors are keen on the “fundamentals” of trading, the new generation looks at momentum, and a joke like Dogecoin sure feels like a slap in the face for them.
