Crypterium (CRPT) is a cryptocurrency made by Steven Parker and Austin Kimm in 2017. It is a decentralized blockchain platform that is described as a crypto-bank platform.

Crypterium encompasses a well-designed wallet and a crypto debit card. It is designed for users to be able to handle all of their cryptocurrency on one platform. The wallet allows users to buy digital assets directly straight from a bank account that is linked to the Crypterium application. All fiat-crypto transactions are conducted off-chain which means that the transactions are settled in a matter of seconds. Furthermore, the wallet is designed to make sending and receiving cryptocurrency really easy. Users can send cryptocurrency to each other even if the receiver does not have a cryptocurrency wallet. The system will generate a new wallet linked to the receivers’ mobile number and send them an SMS link with instructions of how to access their funds.

In June 2019, the Crypterium team launched the first cryptocurrency card that has global accessibility. Crypterium decided to choose UnionPay as the card processor as, unlike VISA, UnionPay allows for worldwide coverage. The card is linked to the Crypterium application, where users can manage the funds of the card. To be eligible to receive a card, Crypterium aks users to pass through a KYC process as the user must provide proof of identity as well as a proof of address.

CRPT is the token created by Crpyterium. All transactions on the platform occur using the CRPT token as it is required as fuel for the transaction to occur. When a payment is made, a total of 0.5% of the overall value is taken as a fee in CRPT for the transaction.
