My weight loss journey: end goal

By Namae | Healthier Horizons | 13 Dec 2023

On previous posts I have talked about my monthly goals, which is the system I plan on following to organize (somehow) this endeavor but what really drives me is my end goal. There's a reason why I'm doing this, and I should never forget it: life quality.

Now, we'll talk about aaaall my medical problems some other time, but I just want to point out that at 16 I was slightly underweight and started developing knee problems. You can only imagine that at 30 and overweight things are looking not so bright for my knees. Don't get me wrong: I'm quite fine right now but I get some random pains here and there and I really don't want to have chronic issues for the rest of my life.

I want a life where I can do nice activities with my dog. A life where I can spend a whole day outside enjoying the weather without my body (or my mind, because by now we all know that our food habits also affect greatly our mental health) hurting. I want to feel satiated after eating, something I've never felt. I want a life where I feel grounded to my body, and comfortable in my own skin. I want a life where I'm not prisoner of the thousand of illnesses I have inherited and I'm headed to because of my habits. In short, I want a life. A better life.

That's my goal and I keep it in mind daily.

That's why I'm trying to focus on building better, healthier long- lasting habits and, hopefully, my weight will follow these improvements, as well as my overall health.
