The Experiment
If you've been following along, you may have read my predictions for the future and our BANANO-reliant economy. Or maybe you've seen my post on mining BANANO with a Raspberry Pi. Well I've got more to report.
In my last post a kind citizen, @oceanloader4, pointed out the following:
(feel it’s worth pointing out to others this will take a year to get you 450 BAN, which is about 40c currently - sorry to be That Guy but i’ve seen people miss the joke on other posts here lately )
This lead me to experiment and study how much $BANANO I could truly mine in a week using the BANANO Powerplant.
I overclocked a Raspberry Pi 4B to 2.01 Ghz and began mining.
The Results

Revel in my achievement. I was able to mine 10.3747 BANANO over the course of a week, using just a Raspberry Pi.
Since I overclocked the Raspberry Pi, I was also careful to measure its temperature to make sure it didn't overheat and bake the BANANO.

It did OK.
Was it Worth It?
At the time of writing this post, a BANANO is worth$0.00116183 USD. So if we do some calculations we have earned approximately $0.0120536377 US dollars over the course of a week! Not too shabby.
How much electricity did this cost?
Well if we assume that the overclocked Raspberry Pi 4B uses 7 watts per hour and that on average a KWh cost $0.12 USD then this week of Raspberry Pi usage cost about $0.14 USD.

So electricity cost us 14x as much as we earned. 🤔
And the Raspberry Pi cost us $35.
On the surface this was definitely not worth it.
However, if we believe in the long-term value of BANANO and continue to HODL, then one day it will be. I am a firm believer that BANANO is the future of our global economy and I do not regret this investment one iota.
However, now I need to scrape together some cents to pay my electric bill. 😔
As always, please consider tossing a BANOSHI my way if you found this research valuable.
