I have seen an uptick in posts here on Publish0x in regards to this awesome cool new browser called CryptoTab. I am sure many of you know it's been around a long time. I even got sucked into it's webs last year. At the time I thought it was cool and neat, I also dabbled in Netbox Browser too.
As my time faded by I lost interest in these browsers and decided it was better to spend my computer resources on things and projects I truly support. Whether that be mining for Loki, mining for XMR, mining for Theta, or more recently running a Folding@Home session via Banano rewards.
Today I read an article here about CyrptoTab and I gave my honest comment about how its just a pyramid scheme and not worth it unless you get a lot of "affiliates". That got me thinking though, "Even though I am not mining myself I wonder if I created a good pyramid scheme last year and have raked in the dough without knowing". So I fired up an old VM and booted up my CryptoTab browser to take a look.
Today I give you my update on CryptoTab Browser.

So my mining speed on this 8 core VM is just terrible. 530 H/s is not worth the power it takes to do it. I see that I have $0.20 since my last withdrawal which is okay I guess since it's free money to me. But what shocked me is the 97 people in my Mining Network. I have no idea what it was the last time I looked but it wasn't 97 that's for sure.
Now to take a better look at my stats. I have mined personally 0.00039 BTC which alright considering I didn't spend that much time mining and the price was way lower when I started this. My mining network mined a considerable 0.00036BTC which again is totally free money to me so I will not complain.

What is crazy though is that apparently the people I referred way back when are still referring people to mine with CryptoTab because look at the link opens and ACTIVE MINERS in the last month. That is nuts, for something I forgot about.

And the breakdown of my referrals and then my active miners in the last month is great!

The one downside is that I tried to withdraw my BTC that I had and it wouldn't let me for 2 reasons.
1) Minimum withdrawal limit is 0.00001 BTC and I do not have that.
2) Well see for yourself

So to anyone out there who is thinking about mining with CryptoTab just think twice. I wrote an article last January about how to set it up and mine and if you are curious then by all means take a look at that article. Here
And on a side note I am still getting views to that article even this month, a year later. I love that Publish0x lets you still earn tips on articles that are more than a year old!
