The Democratization of crypto: When Art Brings People In... and Crypto Sends Them Away

I've been noticing something interesting lately, and I'd like to share it with you.

I'ts about the democratization of cryptocurrency.

What I'm about to say comes from my own experience. I've been trying for quite some time to bring cartoons and crypto together, even within the same content. And despite there being thousands of memes everywhere, many of them seem to exist mainly for short-lived engagement.

there isn't really the same kind of value you get from the whole "human-made drawings" movement, where time is actually part of the equation. A comic strip can take an entire day to make, or at least an afternoon.

Meanwhile, AI can generate thousands of comics in just a few minutes.

But that's not really what I want to talk about here...

Let's talk about the democratization of cryptocurrency, and something I've been noticing: a lot of people seem to come because of the cartoons, but leave because of the crypto.

Yes, that's exactly what I said.

They leave.

I think some people simply assume that everything related to crypto is a scam. And honestly, I've fallen for a few myself.

But I've always followed the "only invest what I can afford to lose" approach. And because of that, I've also managed to make some money, even with memecoins.

So, for example, when I shared a link to something like sol-incinerator, the community coming from RewardJoy and VieFaucet will often click throgh and check it out. But people who originaly came because of the art seem to feel uncomfortable as soon as cryptocurrencies enter the picture.

And this is where I want to make my point:

The democratization of cryptocurrency is inevitable.

It's already happening and crypto is gradually becoming part of our everyday lives.

We need to learn how to swim among the sharks whiteout getting bitten.

I've taken a few hits is this market myself. But that doesn't stop me from seeing enormous usefulness of crypto.

Take donation, for example. someone can send support to another person through a network like Solana, and the transaction can happen in seconds.

two people happy with the same tranaction:

the person giving, and the person receiving.

that's something I genuinely support.

I support the democratization of cryptocurrency and the idea of crypto becoming part of our everyday lives.

It's junt a shame that some of the people who discover me through my cartoons and up leaving because they see a crypto link or a promotion.

I always try to check whether things are actually paying through FaucetPay before sharing them.

And I'll Leave you with a comic from a series I've been working on over on X called Frank and True.

Hope you enjoy it!
