What's interesting about Splinterlands is the ability to improve your deck through the rewards the game itself offers, using Glint in the Glint Shop and also with Gladiator cards obtained by participating in Guild Brawls. In a quick opening of the Gladius Cases, I managed to get two interesting epic cards: Gorth and Trapp Fallowway. Let's analyze the improvements made to the deck and the rewards obtained by opening more than 100 chests.

I'll be much appreaciated if you VotesReblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

Chest Rewards +100

In the 100 basic rarity chests from the Glint Shop, nothing incredible that could be considered a great prize was obtained, but an interesting item was found: the Torrent Sniper, a rare water element card with 7 Manda and a good attack of 2 Manda. It's quite strong as a secondary position card due to its good defense stats, with 8 HP and 2 Shield.

Something I hadn't noticed until now, because I never got many gold foil rewards, is that this card isn't bound; it comes unbounded, giving the player a choice, something fundamental to a web3 game and what differentiates it from normal web2 games, which is the ownership of the NFT (Non-Fault Trading Card). In "normal" games, you dedicate time to progress, and in the end, the account isn't really yours, but the company's, because you can't sell obtained items that violate the rules.

The more restrictions web3 games impose on the player, such as the implementation of bounded cards in Splinterlands, the more they lose this great differentiating factor and become similar to web2 games. By doing so, they place themselves in the same category, and lose the factors that differentiate them. Since web2 games receive much more development and implementations because they have more capital to invest in the game, web3 players will take this into consideration and may leave web3.

Besides that card, there was an interesting rare scroll, which is what made me realize that the gold foil card wasn't bounded. When I tried to use the rare scroll, I noticed that it said "UNBOUNDED" on the card, so I didn't even need to use it. Besides that, there were about 2 common scrolls, a large quantity of small merits, some alchemy and legendary potions, and many common and rare cards.

With the remaining glint, he decided to open some major chests, and it was a terrible decision because almost no cards came out, only 3 different common cards, with 2 units each, meaning 6 cards in total, with absolutely NOTHING special, and when I say NOTHING, I mean literally NOTHING, because not even scrolls or any other better item came out of those chests.

Do you know what came out of that major chest opening? Tears. Joking aside, it was really bad, with most of the cards being merits, potions, or entries. To be more direct, there were exactly 5 chests with only merits, 2 chests with entries, a single chest with energy, and the rest with potions.

Deck Upgrades

In a quick opening of the Gladius Cases, I managed to get two interesting epic cards: Gorth and Trapp Fallowway. When upgrading, I noticed that there was a possibility of putting Isgald Vorst at Level 6, gaining the Piercing ability which will make it extremely lethal. Another gladiator I managed to evolve was Liza Fox, who reached level 5, gaining +1 HP, making her a good ranged option for the death element. Finally, Whistling Damon also reached level 6, but only received +1 speed.

From the reward cards, Magmaforged reached level 4, gaining +1 speed. Palimpsest Prophet also reached level 4, gaining +1 HP, making it tankier. I verified that Anchor-Hex could also evolve to level 3, gaining +1 shield. The Saltwraith Bulkhead, which is a great tank card, went to level 2 gaining one of the most important stats, which is +1 HP.
