Introduction

During the past 20 years, Social Media has transformed the way people interact, connect, communicate, and share information in the digital age of the world wide web. Today, Social Media includes a variety of online platforms and applications that enable users to interact, exchange ideas, and access content instantly such as text, images, videos, and links, in real time from anywhere in the world. Popular examples of the so called mainstream Social Media include Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and even TikTok, each one of them providing different purposes like social interaction, professional networking, entertainment, or information sharing.  becoming anymore . On the 20s of the 21st century, Social media has become an essential part in our daily social life, influencing culture, business, and communication globally.

My Great FB ban

FB can be announced as the "King of the Social Media" connecting families and friends but also strangers all our the world. In my article "GoodBye FB, Welcome Life", I described my huge disappointment after my 2 FB accounts were banned without any specific reason. In fact, in the email that I have received from [email protected], my FB account has been actually restricted from advertising and not because I have 2 FB accounts, as seen below:

And now what? The solution that FB provided of uploading my government id to prove that I am NOT an elephant seems at least unattractive and against Satoshi Nakamoto's Vision but anonymity on the web, but also ineffective, at least on the first attempt. So the only sustainable solution at the moment, is to escape from the mainstream Social Media of the Meta organisation and try to find alternative crypto social media who can keep me connected with the cryptoworld on the web.

Scam Warning

Before I continue my article, I would like to make a SCAM WARNING, to those who will dare to leave a comment on the article promising that they are able to recover my accounts in exchange of Bitcoin, FIAT money or any other altcoin or mean of exchange. I have been scammed in the past from a scammer who promised that he is able to recover my cryptofunds lost in a Binance drop scam, in exchange of crypto, as it is explained in my article with title "BTC Airdrop Conflict". 

So scammers please don't try it again, you will be reported without hesitation to the moderators of this platform. Go find a decent honest and ethical job like everyone on this society. Don't try to scam people because you are lazy holes. Or go to scam the rich people instead not the working people who work hard to feed their families because you don't have the balls to do so!

Mastodon

As a Computer Engineer, I visited recently an OpenSource conference where a Political and OpenSource Technological Activist gave a speech and in the end he stated that everyone is welcome to connect with him on an "OpenSource and Free Speech" social media called Mastodon that was established when Elon Musk acquired Twitter aka X.

Let's make a parenthesis here, At least I still have my X account uncensored even after the acquisition of Twitter from Elon Musk. In fact, my Twitter account had been deactivated once in the past, when Dorsey was still having the control of the platform. In fact, I received an unfair report for a comment that I left on a tweet of another user supporting illegal and undocumented emigrants who were gamified from the Turkish Regime of Erdogan and were instructed to pass the border to Greece without permission only because Erdogan was asking billions of FIAT money from EU in exchange of keeping them in his country.

Nevertheless, soon after the suspension of my FB accounts, I decided to give Mastodon a try! And guess what! Not long afterwards, exactly in my 2nd post, my account had been disabled there instantly too for posting a quote that I heard on a financial interview on youtube saying:

At least, this time I wasn't asked to upload my Government ID on the platform. Eventhough, I made an appeal, my newly created account had been disabled once for good in my exactly 2nd post!

And Mastodon is supposed to be an OpenSource and Free Speech platform! For sure, I never intent to go back there. It seems that X has remained the only platform without censorship so far. And trust me if Elon Musk will decide one morning to purge a percentage of the X accounts, my account would be in that list for sure! And maybe yours too.

And I strongly believe that the act of suspending your social media account, it is more of a Political or Marketing decision rather than the correct decision.

The CryptoFriendly Alternative Social Media

Recently, I decided to create new FB accounts, both for my real identity and my cryptoactivities. However, the continuous fear that one day I will turn on my computer, open my browser and found them banned again scares me to death as if i am an illegal substances merchant.
And that's why i am pursuing alternative social media to express my self online.
And now, what is really left out there? Certainly, not much of the mainstream social media. I still retain my secondary X account @feax31 (my @Feax21 account was politically banned in a highly political period criticizing the support of invading illegal emigrants in Greece by several radical left supporters, before Twitter's purchase from Elon Musk), so it was the timely moment to divert my attention and my online socialising to alternative SocialMedia with a cryptofriendly flavour and the SocialFi ecosystem.

Publish0x

I was referred in the platform back in November 2020 by an ex Twitter follower who recommended the platform to snatch some easy crypto just for tipping other publishers. That's how I also started but my desire to express my opinion couldn't be limited in just leaving comments and soon, my publishing skills exploded !!!

I still enjoy expressing my crypto-opinions on the platform although I have been critical on them twice with the articles "Publish0x tipping points and giveaways" and "Publish0x Tipping Point Vol. 2".

Noise.cash - Noise.app

Noise.cash became extremely popular as a microblogging platform branded as the "Twitter for CryptoEnthusiasts" especially since it provided tips in BCH to its users for posting in the platform. Yet, the tipping system soon had been manipulated from scammers and the platform became a mainstream google store app as a noise.app. Unfortunately, I never read the email for the migration of my posts in noise.app since i was too busy with my job and out of any crypto-activities after the ban of Binance in the UK, so i missed the deadline so I've lost all my activity there and never came back!

and maybe I should return there one day!

Torum

Torum became extremely popular in the crypto community because it was presented as the "Facebook of CryptoEnthusiasts" all around the world and the fact it was provided an ERC-20 token XTM as a reward for using the platform made it extremely attractive to crypto-users. In fact I managed to withdraw 623 ERC-20 XTM into my non-custodial wallet !

Yet they guys there decided one day to migrate their token XTM from the ERC-20 mainnet to BEP20 mainnet that caused a lot of personal confusion and it was the first signs of their failure.

Yes I was banned from Torum FOR LIFE in the end as well after they introduced a Bot who started sweeping accounts that it didn't like in contradiction to Asimov's Laws. Probably Torum has been well branded as the "Facebook of CryptoEnthusiasts" since it started banning its members faster than Facebook itself !!!

And for the history, Torum has been anymore rebranded as Torum-Pay and became a CryptoWallet.

LeoFINANCE - HIVE

Even until today, on October 2025 I have little understanding how the hell Hive or LeoFinance (i am not sure if they are 2 separate identities or not) work and how you have been rewarded in Leo coins and still I can't understand WHY do i need to have Leo Energy to express my opinion when i can do it for free in Publish0x ! I still  have several accounts there as Feax21 or Feax13 but i was so confused that I have decided to completely give up.

THE ARENA

Searching for an alternative cryptofriendly social media, I came across The Arena powered by the AVALANCHE community rewarding AVAX for its member's activity. Yet, so far I was never tipped any AVAX tokens and it is very strange that the ONLY way to to sign in in the platform you need to use your X account. So if you ever lose your X accounts due to a political ban, you will lose eventually your The Arena account as well. Nevertheless, i still use it posting interesting information there although i have little interaction with the community there. The platform appears to be very similar to X with activities like Live Group Chats but also the possibility to launch your own token on the AVAX mainnet. 

DEGENIN - SOCIAL ENGINE FOR CRYPTO

Recently I came across Degenin, A social Engine for Crypto on the Solana network by accident while browsing my favorite PTC sites and earning crypto. Degenin appears to be a combination of Facebook in its purest form, X, a Trading DEX and The Arena giving to its members to share a daily pool of Solana based on their activities after passing an easy verification process. Members can either retain their profits in the platform and stake them in exchange of an equity or withdraw them without any withdrawal limit. 

.

Apart from socialising with a follow-follow back function, members can also Launch their own token on Solana, trade tokens and memes, perpetual trading, use the DegenAI assistant, receive an equity profit or express their opinion without censorship. The platform appears extremely promising and unless these guys take terrible decisions in the future and start baning members stealing their profits, they have a bright future ahead.

For the past weeks, I always enjoy my morning coffee while browsing and posting on Degenin! And for your information, after posting the same post that I posted in Mastodon and got banned, nothing really happened apart from earning a batch of Solana.

Final Thoughts

In a web full of online opportunities, mainstream social Media aren't a panaceia but an endless trap without proper freedom of speech and the SocialFi revolution has already proven that there is another way for socialising online, expressing your opinion without constraints while earning crypto at the same time. Banning and censoring users for political or marketing reasons isn't a solution either. Choose your alternative Social Media wisely !
