In my previous article about the Publish0x Tipping Points & Giveaways, I expressed my scepticism for various practises that take place on the platform in terms mostly of the tipping process and I highlighted the fact that any criticism has only a constructive character in order to "correct" some not effective practises that take place in the tipping. For sure anyone is free to tip any article it is believed it is worthy to be tipped but according to my opinion there are some optimizations, some "Good Tipping Practises" in order the tips sent to earn better value and be sent to a wider and more diverse destinations of writers. Therefore, I explained that it is preferable to tip the articles of writers who don't earn huge amounts of tips, rewarding their efforts and encouraging them to write more articles instead of tipping the professional and popular writers who earn substantial amounts of tips in order to fund their reputation as crypto-experts, crypto-evangelists and crypto-gourous. Nevertheless, this practise of self promoting in the crypto- world is against Satoshi Nakamoto Vision for anonymity and humbleness on the crypto world. If Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to uncover his identity he would have been today the most famous and popular person of the world earning all the substantial benefits of his publicity and popularity. Yet he prefers to stay anonymous and we should consider his humbleness as an example.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting to write another article about Publish0x tipping practises at least so soon. However, I came across an article from my good friend Igor, COO of Publish0x with title "Towards Long Term Sustainability: Tipping Rates Cut, Tipping Token Changes, and Cracking Down on Low Quality Content" talking about various changes from the Publish0x on the platform in order to become sustainable instead of personally funding its operations. The main measures towards sustainability include:
1) Tipping Rates Reduced by 50%
2) Ethereum (ETH) No Longer Used as a Tipping Token.
3) Cracking Down on Content of Poor Quality and of Low Value.
4) You Will (Likely) See More Adverts.
From the above measures, for the measures (1), (2) and (4) (Tipping Rates Reduces by 50%, Ethereum (ETH) No longer used as a Tipping Token, You will (Likely) See More Adverts) I have no personal objection. I find them positive measures for the sustainability of the platform since its popularity has been increased so it is difficult to provide the same amount of tips to more members especially since the Publish0x provide the funds of the tipping Pool out of their personal wallet. Moreover, I believe that keeping Ethereum as a tipping crypto-coin for so long and especially this period when it reached an ATH of over 4k USDT and currently around 2K USDT is a huge accomplishment on its own.
Ethereum proved to be too expensive lately for a blogging platform especially due to the expensive gas fees of transactions so possibly considering more sustainable "cheaper" crypto-coins such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Tron (TRX), SHIBA INU, Dogecoin (DOGE) or BITT might be a better more sustainable idea. Maybe a sponsorship of the tipping or even a mint of Publish0x own token could help elaborate the situation. Still, I believe that measure (3) (Cracking Down on Content of Poor Quality and of Low Value) is the most embarrassing for a blogging platform on the web where freedom of speech is an undisputable privilege although on the revised? Platform Rules - TOS and Code of Conduct, the Publish0x Team explains what a low quality article means as follows:
Offenses that may get Your Account Restricted:
- Using two or more accounts. Only one account per person, and per internet connection is allowed.
- Using any kind of automation; especially if it is used to tip authors or publish posts; this includes using bots, macros, etc.
- Spamming the comments section. Please note that this especially means that we target comments where users are trying to get other users to sign up to one service / product or another, or comments that simply say "I tipped you, check my blog and tip me too!" or similar. If you write thoughtful comments, others will check your profile and your posts.
- Spamming the comments. Period. Please do not go around commenting on other peoples articles and ask them to tip your content or follow you.
- Trying to cheat our system in any way. :)
And also on the article with title "Towards Long Term Sustainability: Tipping Rates Cut, Tipping Token Changes, and Cracking Down on Low Quality Content" as follows:
Low quality posts may attract users who wish to earn some crypto, often by publishing:
Content that takes no effort to publish. This includes copy / pasted content, translated content, or content spun using robots who make it appear original.
Other types of low quality content we often see include posts published exclusively in order for the author to get people to sign up to one program or another using their referral links.
Then, there are posts for which authors pretty much just reword a news article found on sites like CoinTelegraph
Last, but not least, posts we consider low quality are those short, one to three paragraph posts written in 2 to 5 minutes, where author has no regard for those who will read his post.
Nevertheless, as Igor provided the comments section to the Publish0x community to express their opinion, I took also the opportunity to express mine as follows:

Igor decided to provide a lengthy reply which i really appreciate as follows:

And I also gave a final reply before starting writing this article as follows:

Overall, my main objection is about removing low quality articles as it is very subjective sometimes what is low or high quality and they might be found on the situation of being accused for censorship and lack of freedom of speech. Who is gonna decide what is of low and what is of high quality or value? As I write in my initial comment, Are there any benchmarks? I think Publish0x policy censoring low quality articles is against Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision for freedom of speech on the web. It appears mostly like a policy where the “system” decides which posts are high quality to stay or not that can be only compared to the policy used by the German government in the period 1933-1945. I have never seen like that on the world wide web for the past 30 years especially from a crypto-agnostic platform. And for those who don't know about the policy of the German Government censoring books and ideas apart from all their other crimes during the dark period of 1933-1945 I should provide them the relevant links of wikipedia about book burning and the systematic book burning and censorship of ideas from the German Goverment here.

I found another similar article here about A closer look at Georgia Southern’s response to students’ book burning and from I have read there was a huge controversy there as well about the event of book burning that took place in the Georgia Southern University due to the scheduled appearance of an author that was cancelled. I take the "burning" of ideas very seriously.
That's why I am talking that the Publish0x is taking a more commercial and profit orientation. They give me the impression that they want to remove "low" quality articles so that they can attract more sponsors for their platform. Apologies but I don't think Publish0x is a professional scientific magazine such as Nature, ACM, Elsevier or IEEE Magazine where every article has to be approved by a scientific committee for its scientific accuracy before being published. I consider Publish0x, a cool "easy-going" online blogging platform for the crypto-world where amateur writers express their opinions without the fear of having their opinion rejected as non-compatible with the Publish0x Terms & Conditions and proceed in self-censorship.
Personally, I believe that me and many amateur writers as well, we have started from “low” quality articles to a better quality articles and at least for me, being tipped for my efforts is a great encouragement to continue writing. I am not aware of any spam articles either whether other blogging platforms are using bots and AI to remove them. I just wanted to emphasize that even removing low quality articles of writers is against the freedom of the speech on the web and also a disappointment of amateur writers efforts. I don’t believe that the majority of the writers here are professional writers and personally i am trying to encourage them to write more by tipping them and not the professional or the popular ones. I should really thank Igor for his reply but I strongly believe the Publish0x Team should be very careful which articles should be removed in terms of “spamming" or of low quality.
And just like Anakin Skywalker, someone might very well respond that "My Platform, my Writing Rules" or "If you don't like then just leave"

Certainly that's completely correct. However there is an ethical side for the freedom of speech on the web that should be also very well to point out here even though as Igor insisted, Publish0x isn't a decentralised platform but obviously a centralised one with one "Central Authority" that takes all the decisions. Yet, nobody can start censoring articles that might don't appear of high quality or value to his personal impression and in terms with Publish0x Terms & Conditions in order to attract more sponsors as it is against the freedom for the speech on the world wide web. I believe that when the Publish0x Team decided to start this wonderful platform of crypto-expression, they considered the possibility of being found on a situation of enforcing censorship, however if they believe in the freedom of speech, they shouldn't proceed in any kind of censorship otherwise Publish0x is just another expression of the "system".
And certainly I am not leaving the platform, as someone suggested in his rude reply of my comment. The complaint and the criticism that I do isn't because i wanted to leave or because I just like complaining. My complain was a constructive criticism to make things better in the platform. I believe that the crypto-world has embraced the alternativeness of the platform and the fact that it provides tips for the posted articles and through constructive criticism we should all help to make it better instead of leaving. I am a fighter after all.
