Ross Ulbricht finally got his pardon, full and unconditional, from the new U.S president.
It was a very hard battle and the fight took more than a decade to end with the founder of the now defunct marketplace, Silk Road, to get his freedom back all because the American president kept his promise and lifted all his wrongdoings to grant a pardon.
Don't think that it was a easy battle because it wasn't, and many people helped in this fight from anonymous people to very known people in the crypto and non crypto industry. One of those people in crypto is Roger Ver. Ver did many things to help Free Ross Ulbricht and even in the latest interview he appeared he was wearing a t-shirt with "Free Ross on Day one", a message directed to president Donald Trump.
Roger Veris a freedom fighter and helping Ross to be freed was a cause to support as he didn't deserved all that time in jail for creating a software to easiest people's life, now, how that people use it, it's their responsibility. But, all that is in the past and now who need support is Ver!
Ver is on deep trouble and already being told that could face 109 years in an American jail for tax evasion. Yes, you heard it correct. Roger Ver could be jailed for a time that he possible not living to see all because allegedly owes some money to the IRS. But how the hell they condemn people? Are they just take a number and place ransom or what? 109 years in jail for something that most of the time feels that the government is stealing from they own people?!
Fun also is that Roger Ver isn't even a citizen anymore and it's not clear to me how the IRS want to charge him using which pretext or what kind of infallible proves they have to send Roger Ver to prison. Here I am feeling that Roger Ver was a bait to send a message to the crypto space and tell it that no matter what if you don't follow the rules you will be thrown in jail in America.
But now, Donald Trump is on the wheel and things to the space are changing and Ross Ulbricht was the first action towards sending good vibes to the space. Ross is out and is time to retribute all what Roger did helping spreading the word about freeing Ver and see him walk out like he did. I understand also that many people in the crypto space still being a***s in the industry towards Ver, but you know what? Let them be like that, after all, he don't need to make happy other ones only to him and his family with his choices.
World and Bitcoin Cash community I believe we can do our part helping to spread the world and help Roger Ver come out to jail. Roger Ver have a petition campaign to help him out and reach to the oval office where President Trump can choose to Pardon or not. I want also to send a message to all those guys condemning Roger to leave the BTC community and still holding a grudge against him: Grow Up.
Everyone have the right to walk away if they find that there's nothing more to support on a thing they believed at first, spent money to make others embrace it but just is not what it was. Roger Ver had the name "Bitcoin Jesus" for being pioneer in the industry and spending money in promoting Bitcoin across U.S spending more than $100k in ads on radio stations, being the first one to open a business that accepted Bitcoin at the time and much, much more.
Many crypto business across the ecosystem have money from Roger Ver on them and still running because him and other investors put money on them. He believed in so many projects around crypto that is crazy to see all those business today "running away" from him and not showing support. It's odd and very discouraging but we'll continue to support him and help bring him home as this seems the right thing to do.
