It is interesting to notice that the adherence to the Meetup is happening naturally. People I have been in contact with to invite are showing interest and curiosity. After all, it is not every day that they can gather to learn something that will add some monetary wisdom to their lives.
The plan is simple and straightforward: people are interested in learning about Bitcoin Cash in order to have one more way to use their money without having to depend on the government. Here in Mozambique, many people do not have access to information and many things happen under the table, corruption, and for that reason informing people is giving them ammunition to rebel.
Therefore, the Meetup is of general interest, but not everyone has that perception. This happens because many people close themselves off in their own little world and prefer to use what they already know, which is why the mobile companies that own mobile wallets make a lot of money. As in many parts of Africa and the underdeveloped world, people have a greater tendency to believe in and use means that the state promotes because they think it is safe and that “government stuff” does not lie.
However, over the years and with the global reach of the decentralized money ecosystem, many people prefer to control their money without the government knowing or having any say over it. This has been happening slowly but effectively. That is why this first BCH Meetup is important, because those who participate, even if it is only one person, will have enough information to bring another one to the next event.
The big problem of not releasing information is done intentionally, as I mentioned before, because “people cannot know what their rights and duties are”, and in this way the corrupt can continue to “eat where they are tied” and make people continue to suffer without having a basis to defend themselves. It is normal, for example, for rumors to be spread just so that people do not use cryptocurrencies because “they can lose money”.
They do not say how they can lose money or even why, but they spread this rumor, and as soon as people hear about cryptocurrencies they already associate them with something dubious. However, the same ones who spread this malicious information are the same ones who use it, trade it, and even hide fortunes using crypto.
As you can see, it is simply a plan not to give information to those who have the right to it, but the Meetup will clear up certain doubts about the ecosystem. That is why it is important. I already thank those who have sent support, both in physical goods and in BCH, because without them the Meetup would not have legs to stand on. Even so, I still need more, because I want this not to be just a meeting, but a celebration of Bitcoin Cash in Mozambique during this festive season.
While we inform, we will also have fun learning about Bitcoin Cash, the wallets in the ecosystem, the tools, the people who drive the space, and much more. For that reason, I thank the entire Bitcoin Cash community spread around the world, and also those who want to contribute by sending BCH. I will leave the event address for organizational purposes:

For me, this is not just a meetup, but a gathering where we will talk about many things related to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem while having a drink and having fun. I count on you so that our party becomes a reality on December 20. Take care, happy holidays, and Merry Christmas.
