Ever since Justin Sun acquired Steemit Inc., many Steemit stakeholders and the crypto community have criticized him for some of his actions. The most talked-about incident was the hostile take over of the Steem blockchain platform in February 2020. Sun was reported having bribed some of the Steemians in order to find his way to the top of the Steem hierarchy.

As a result, the Steemit community not being satisfied with Sun's decisions made the Hive blockchain where they copied the steemit blockchain to ensure users who had to switch still had access to their contents. 

According to decrypt, the Steemit network plans a hard fork geared toward account seizures of Steemit users and to extract Steem coins worth $5 million from their wallets. Justin Sun said in a tweet:

As for Steemit Inc., many millions of dollars were stolen by Hive witnesses. We are working w/ law enforcement & will take actions to get our funds back! We have lots of sympathy for all Steem witnesses who has suffered the same at the hands of the Hive witnesses.

The scheduled hard fork could be a response action to retrieve the stolen funds from the accused HIVE Witnesses. He also declared his stands with the Steem community and revealed the creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, and the media have been in support of HIVE's course:

Crypto Twitter has been on Justin Sun's neck lately and condemned his actions. Most people in the space find him embarrassing including Vitalik Buterin as seen in most of his (Vitalik) Tweets in response to Steemit centralization issues.
