Theta Mainnet 3.0 goes live today June 30th 2021
Theta has been releasing lots of incremental improvements to lay the groundwork for their Mainnet 3.0 launch. In reality, 13-months to bring major advancements sounds reasonable to me. Theta has been well planned out and they execute their plans well too! This translates into Investor Value over the long haul.
How far has Theta come? Recall on May 30th '20 Mainnet 2.0 went live and today June 30th 3.0 after a slight delay in April. Last year at this time Theta had 2,600 Edge nodes now that is nearly 140,000 Edge nodes. Roughly, ~62% of Theta has already been staked which is super for strength of the community. TFUEL currently only has ~13% staked, which leaves room to grow rapidly after today. People in the USA continue to be stiff-armed as no Major US Crypto exchange is selling Theta. Sure Coinbase continues to say they will sell it but, in what year? Will all the major gains already be baked in?
Recall Theta has a huge Utility benefit it allows Peer-to-Peer bandwidth sharing bypassing the Content Delivery Network (CDN) scaling issues. Theta already has four (4) US Patents in/around their utility. Utility is one of my key must have for Crypto selection process.
What does Mainnet 3.0 bring us?
- Elite Edge Nodes - which support Smart Contracts
- Guardian Node V3.0.2 - which enable V3 Mainnet features and is a mandatory upgrade to participate in Mainnet 3.0
- Elite Edge nodes w/ dual rewards
- Edge node V3.0.6 - Easy to see Stake, Balance etc. Recall the Edge node provides three different ways to earn TFUEL
- Theta Wallet V3.0.1 to enable TFUEL staking
- NFT Marketplace - Will we see a Major Sports Star come out with his NFT's on Theta? The grapevine has lots of juicy rumors..., I hope its true!

Overall Impact to Staking? Currently staked Theta is earning ~4.5% which is great, I am uncertain on the staking impact moving forward on Mainnet 3.0. While staked TFUEL is earning about 34% and I expect that to go down a bit. Honestly, it might be too early to tell how the price will be impacted and the amount staked as both impact the APR %. Still beats the stuffing out of what your bank is paying you! Secondarily, you are aiding in the success of the decentralization of the Theta Blockchain!

Are a Theta Investor? Additionally, are you putting your Theta to work for you in a staking pool? Recall you only need 1000 THETA to stake. What about your TFUEL, you can stake it too. I believe the TFUEL staking minimum is 10,000 TFUEL. Earn as much via passive income streams as possible. I.E. Make your money work for you, not the other way around.
How would a Major Market such as Apple coming out in favor of Theta impact your Theta position? I can only envision strong demand and huge prices moves.
Summary - Think back to 2017 when Theta was performing Series A funding rounding and how far it truly has come in a short period of time. 9 Major Enterprise Validators (Binance, Google, gumi, DHVC, CAA, Samsung, Sony, etc). Think about all the YouTube and other top talent working on Theta daily to take it to the next level, these are just some of the fundamentals why Theta & TFUEL will takeover the World in my opinion.
