Justin Sun, born in 1990, is a Chinese tech entrepreneur best known for creating the cryptocurrency platform Tron (TRX). He is also the current CEO of BitTorrent and former CEO of mobile social App Peiwo and former chief representative of the Greater China area of Ripple before moving on to Tron in 2017.
Sun is well educated as he holds an M.A. in East Asia Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in History from Peking University. Moreover, at the age of 26, Sun was chosen by the Alibaba founder and executive chairman, Jack Ma to study at Hupan University where he became the first and only millennial to graduate from Hupan University in 2018.
Additional life achievements from Sun include him being the cover figure Yazhou Zhoukan in 2011 and Davos Global Youth Leaders in 2014. His achievements didn’t stop there as he was named the most noteworthy new entrepreneur by CNTV in 2015 and was named Forbes China 30 Under 30 from 2015 through 2017. Sun’s latest achievement was the placement of a record-breaking $4.5 million bid to have lunch with the legendary investor Warren Buffet in June 2019. However, when the day of the private lunch came, Sun reportedly had kidney stones and was unable to go.
Apart from Sun’s long list of academic and entrepreneurial achievements, he is also a millennial influencer and marketing genius. He boasts more than 1.6 million followers on Twitter and has over 1.2 million followers on the Chinese social network Weibo. Sun is notoriously known for hyping up his cryptocurrency project Tron by making announcements of announcements over social media and blatantly lying to promote his project. That being said, Sun is both a marketing and tech entrepreneur genius as well as a controversial figure in the cryptocurrency space.
