Andreas Antonopoulos is a very well respected Bitcoin advocate. He is best known for his groundbreaking technical book called “Mastering Bitcoin” and is also a speaker and educator famed for being able to break down very complex blockchain concepts into manageable understandings.
Born in England and raised in Greece, Andreas started to become fascinated with networks after discovering the internet at a meager age of 14 years old. Antonopoulos went on to move back to England to study for a degree in computer science at University College London. He continued his studies to receive a master's degree in Data Communications, Network, And Distributed Systems.
During his period consulting, in 2012, for many Fortune Top 500 companies in the United States Antonopoulis came stumbled across Bitcoin (for the second time) and immediately began devouring any information he could find about what he had dubbed as ‘nerd money’. Antonopolous eventually went on to leave his role as a consultant and began to speak and educate for many cryptocurrency startups.
The knowledge gained from educating himself led him to consult the Canadian Senate and Australian Senate on cryptocurrency laws. He was also appointed as a teaching fellow at the University of Nicosia after they became the first University to offer a master's degree in Digital Currencies.
In 2014 Antonopolous released his groundbreaking guide on Bitcoin “Mastering Bitcoin”. This is widely known as the best technical guide ever written about Bitcoin. He went on to release, The Internet of Money and his edition of Mastering Ethereum.
