What happens if you can´t enter or forget the destination tag within a NEXO XRP transaction?

Hi all,

recently i transferred all my crypto to nexo.io because i think they have one of the best interest rates in the crypto world. I started to transfer my cryptos from my BISONApp Wallet to my nexo wallet. I had no problems with my BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, the only problem i had was the XRP transaction. Nexo disclaims that you need a destination tag for the XRP transaction which i knew but this wasn´t offered by the BISONApp. So that´s why i thought it would be fine to send it without the tag. But this was a huge mistake.

BISONApp noted that it could take about 3 days until the transaction is accomplished. Since now i haven´t received any XRP. Right now in the XRP boom time xD. It isn´t much XRP but who cares, money is money. Three days ago i decided to contact the Nexo customer support service. I thought, I know the exact amount of the transaction it must be possible to find this transaction.

Nexo is collecting all XRPs in one pool consisting of 662,150.980089 XRP (proof) and distributes the XRP according to destination tags:

As i didn´t use the destination tag, i asked the customer service if they could find the transaction for me, with just the exact amount that was transferred and estimated time window. They said no, we need the hash, that i didn´t had at this moment, they told me i should contact BISONApp Support instead in order to provide the hash, so i started to argue:

1. I know the source, respectively the amount of XRP that was send
2. I know that the XRP was sent on the 3rd of july
3. I know it should be transferred within three days.

The answer remained the same. "We need the hash to help you".

So i started to look for the transaction on my own on https://livenet.xrpl.org/

I looked for the transaction to: rnuPTVikw8HKK4hBGCtnq2J2433VYaZPZQ
and checked the time window from the 3rd July to the 7th July
My transaction should have a value of 42.133747 XRP and should have no destination tag

And voilá, what nexo.io couldn´t do in 1 day, did I within 10 mins. Just by scrolling down the ledger list.

Now i got the hash nexo needed. I provided it to them. On the same time i asked BISON if they could tell me the hash of my XRP transaction. They were identically. So i forwarded the information provided by BISON to nexo.io. I thought wow finally i will get my XRP transferred to my account. But nexo wanted more info from me. I had to make a screen-cast video with the following requirements.

In order to facilitate the process of recovering your XRP please provide us with proof that you were the one who executed the transfer to the Nexo Platform. For these purposes, we need:

1. A screen-cast video that starts before you have logged in into your XRP wallet/account from which you sent the tokens to us. Please make sure the video record meets the following criteria:

- The transaction details, as well as the whole URL in the address bar of your browser, are clearly visible.
- The transaction ID is clearly visible (you may need to click/tap on the transaction).

2. The transaction link from the XRPexplorer. (already provided)

3. Your personal Destination Tag(from your Nexo wallet)

Please share the video with us via a cloud service like Google Drive for example. You can also upload it to an online file sharing service and send us the download link.

Important: For future XRP transfers to your Nexo account, please make sure that the provider you will be using is a platform that can include the destination tag.

I provided this info as well. Now, Nexo.io is trying to get my funds back into my account. So i am still waiting. I´ll let you know how it ends.

CONCLUSION: The funds from a transaction with and without a destination tag are collected in a money pool. Those with a tag are faster deposited to your nexo account. You should still get your funds back by providing the necessary information. Make sure you add a tag next time or transfer the XRP to wallet where you are the only financial responsible person or transfer the XRP to a wallet from where you can add a destination tag.
