All popular crypto wallets and passwords managers are not ready for the Q-day. All hardware crypto wallets can be hacked, even without quantum computers (see [1]). Microsoft and Atom Computing are planning to sell commercial quantum computers in 2025 (see [2]).
Even conservative mainstream experts agree, today, that the Q-day will come soon (see [3-5]). Their advice is to start preparations for the Q-day now, by replacing all encryption algorithms, which can be hacked by quantum computers, on new post-quantum encryption algorithms recommended by NIST (see [6]).
For many ordinary people and small businesses, this approach is not easy to do it themselves and is very expensive if to ask qualified experts to do it for them.
In this post, we consider a simple method to prepare your passwords and private keys, which are stored in encrypted files, for the Q-day in a simple and cost efficient way, which does not require replacement of encryption algorithms.
A simple solution is to use virtual passwords and virtual private keys. They are not saved in any place and do not need to be encrypted. With easy to remember input parameters (key and date) anyone can generate multiple virtual passwords (see [7-9]) or virtual private keys (see [10-12]) and easy manage them for multiple accounts/devices/locks/crypto wallets/etc. With public DPGs you can do it for free. For better security, convenience and reliability you can buy private DPGs (see [13-14]).
P.S. For the first time ever researchers crack RSA and AES data encryption!!!
