Passenger Drone Bus & Taxi Services

Anyone with any sense realized that everything moving forward after the global shutdown will be different and for good reason. Airlines had no passengers. There was no need for their services; period. People were conducting business via face-2-face telecom services.  As the world reopens Inventors are pivoting to offer new services as the airways are more open than the congested streets.

Rules of the land - there is only a finite amount of land to build roads, bridges, railways, Airports and even tunnels.  Even as expansive as those utilities are they are often congested and breaking down.  Then Governments step in trying to help subsidizing public transport (thinking throwing money at a problem they don't and refuse to learn more about.) So what to do?

So what's left?  look up, the sky has more potential for growth today and in the future.

Who?  Kelekona an NYC-based startup is planning to offer larger density electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL).

Larger Density? Kelekona's founder,  is thinking big with a 40 passenger drone bus that weighs 10,000 pounds and has an estimated range of 330 miles, with the ability to fly between Los Angeles and San Fransico in one hour.  Typical eVTOL are planning on moving only 2-4 passengers, so yes greater densities.

I wrote about eVTOL in two previous posts you can find them here:

Other service routes? Kelekona is planning routes between Manhattan to the Hamptons; Boston to New York; New York to Washington, D.C.; and Los Angeles to San Francisco will cost around $85 and last for 30 minutes.

Routes for how much?  Not set in stone at this point, but higher than public transportation for certain.  Perhaps a long distance train ticket?!?

Not for everyday use for the plebs.  Certain not to make a commute to the office affordable, but enables a nice three day get away or a way to get out and explore with quick turn around times.

Are the models up and running? No, Kelekona has yet to build a scaled model but has been running computer simulations of the eVTOL.  While they believe firmly in their design models they expect to be up and operational by 2024.

What is stopping them?  In the USA the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) governs and grants access to US airspace. So Kelekona must still gain approval for access to U.S. airspace.

Will they accept Crypto?  I was not able to find anything leading me to think they have thought through accepting Crypto. However, there is still time for them to lay the groundwork for such forward thinking!

Summary - the SciFi Future is taking shape, can't wait to order my flying car.  Until then I look forward to a Sky Drone Bus offering

Stay Classy and Enjoy the Journey!
