My Journey to Financial Freedom - Are you feeling Brave?

In this series of posts, I will be talking about my financial journey. Where my goal is to obtain financial freedom. This post will take about the very first baby steps I have taken into the crypto space. Some steps will take me forward to my goal. But some steps will also inevitably be sidesteps or even steps backward.

First, I am sorry this third episode is dropping on a Sunday and not the normal Fridays, as I intended. I have been away the last couple of days so I have had a way too busy schedule to make it work. So I just wanted to apologize for this mishap. I will try and do better in the future.

Are you feeling Brave?

In my last post, I discussed earning a passive income from selling some bandwidth. If you want to read about it you will find that post here. Today I will talk about another great way to create an income stream, all without changing a thing. So you can earn money while you already are doing what you are doing. And that is done simply by switching the browser you are using. If you switch your browser over to the Brave Browser. This browser has a built-in way for you to earn passive income. All while allowing you to still go about doing what you usually do.

How does all of this work you might ask yourself? Well, Brave has actually several ways for you to earn money while using it. But let me first talk a little about what it is you are earning. Brave uses something called Basic Attention Tokens, or BAT for short. And these BAT tokens work like any other crypto. You can buy, sell or trade them.

Earning BAT

The first way to earn BAT tokens with Brave is to have Brave adds turned on. Brave ads are small ads that you will see as either popup, a replacement for other ads on pages, or when you open a new page. These ads are nothing you need to interact with, so you can just go about surfing as you usually do. To be honest most of the time I never even notice them. And this is actually by design. As Brave purposely designed the ads to integrate as smoothly as possible. Means no annoying popups, videos, or things like that that you might see on the website. You can also set the number of ads you can see per hour. This number you can set as low as 0 if you have this feature turned off. ^^ Or it can be set as high as 10 adds per hour. But an important thing to note, however, is that this number is the maximum number of ads. And this number is not a guarantee. So some hours you might get 5 adds, some 0, and some 10. It depends a little on where you live and how many are advertising with Brave.

A second way you can earn BAT is by joining the Braves Creators Program. Here you can add your Twitch or Youtube channel to the Creators Program. And whenever someone who is using the Brave Browser can then tip you directly. Or you can ask your followers to automatically make a donation, even set a monthly schedule to support your website or channel. So this way is the best way to earn a lot of BAT. But it is also the way that requires the most work out of the three ways.

Like other browsers but different

The Brave Browser is also built on the same foundation as Chrome. So if you already use, or have used, that browser. Switching over to Brave would then mean only a very short transition period. The Brave Browser also comes with a built-in ad blocker. And one of my favorite small features. And that is, it shows you how much time it has saved for you. By blocking the ads.

Does all this sound great to you, or do you think it at least sounds like a better deal than your current browser? Then I strongly recommend you to head on over to Brave and install your own version of Brave Browser. And by the way. You can use it on your mobile as well. Allowing you to earn even more BAT when you are not at home. You can find the Brave Browser, and more information about Brave here:

My experience with Brave

What was above was the spiel that sold me on the Brave browser. But I also wanted to let you all know of my own experience with it. I have been using it for around two weeks now. I use it in conjunction with my old Chrome browser. So I am guilty of multi-browsing if you like. So far I have to say I really like it. And my favorite part by far is the way the browser, when you open a new page, first has a rolling gallery of awesome background images. If you do not prefer to use your own. And the other thing that gets displayed there as well as the amount of time the build-in adblocker has saved me from blocking add. I do not know what it is about that that I find so rendering. But I just find it nice to see.

At the current moment of writing, I have also earned a total of 7.616 BAT. Or $2.8 if you rather like to see those numbers instead. And while that might not be impressive in info itself. It is just a nice little piece of extra income, that I think will add up over time. Sort of how the tip here on Publish0x adds up over time as well.

There also is a monthly Brave Grant, where you can get BAT tokens, so far I have not been a part of this. These tokens however are for use only, and can not be withdrawn. So you can use them to tip creators you like or anything else you can think of. Once used however the person who gained them can withdraw them like normal BAT. And if you do not use them you lose them.

What I like to do, in order to maximize the BAT I get, is once every while I open up a ton of new tabs. This will trigger the new tap adds and allow you to maximize the number of adds you have been given for that time period.

Overall I have had nothing but good experiences with the Brave Browser. So I would highly recommend you start using it. So use the link above or just search for "Brave Browser" and you should be able to find it super easy.

I hope that you have found this post to be informative r at least entertaining. If so please consider following me, reading my other posts, or why not do both. You can find my other posts here and here.

See you on the interwebs!
