In this series of posts, I will be talking about my financial journey. Where my goal is to obtain financial independence. This post will take about the very first baby steps I have taken into the crypto space. Some steps will take me forward to my goal. But some steps will also inevitably be sidesteps or even steps backward. You can catch the first step here:
My Journey to Financial Freedom - My Journey Starts Here
Trying new ways to earn money
In my first post, I talked about one of my very first forays into crypto. You can read all about that here. In this post, I will talk about one of the many ways you can earn a little extra money, by doing nothing. Nothing you say? Yes, nothing. So what is this magic nothing you might ask? Well, there are a few sites out there that let you share your bandwidth with people. Or access to the internet, or however you want to put it. But they do not have internet infrastructure everywhere, unlike the big internet providers. They instead rely on people like you and me.
What do I mean by saying it relies on people like you and me? Well, this is because, in order for the companies to provide their service, people like you and me will have to agree to share our bandwidth with them. And this can be done just by simply creating an account on their website. Then download their app. And in order for you to chair your bandwidth, you just need to keep the app running on your computer, or mobile. Then whenever they get a request in your vicinity, they will automatically turn to you and use your bandwidth. Giving you money for helping them provide this service.

There are several actors that all provide this service. There are seven that I know of and actively use myself. But seven is a lot of providers to cover in one post. Yes, yes it is. So what I have decided to do instead is to take a look at one of them, Honeygain. Aha you say, I know why. Wink wink. And you are correct if you thought it is because I think they are by far the stand out company in this fields. And that was the main reason I reached out to them, asking if they would be willing to approve this post. And they graciously said yes, they would.
The award for being outstanding goes to...
The first thing that stands out to me as a user is their easy to use UI. Sure a few others also have nice and easy to use UI. But they do not have animated bees. And I do not know what it is about them but I just become happy when I see them wissing around collecting that honey for me. =) Nice and easy to use UI, ok got it. Is that it tho? No. Another small but very nice thing they also have is that every day you get to play the Lucky Pot Game. And this will give you a random amount of points by opening the honey jar. I have gotten anywhere from 10 to 200 points, but the maximum you can get is a massive 10000 points. And this is a nice and fun addition that allows you to earn extra points while also checking your daily progress. By having the daily lucky pot game, it becomes a fun thing to check in on my daily earnings, instead of just another chore I feel like I have to do.

A second thing that is unique to Honeygain is they allow you to switch between their traditional payment model and swap to an direct crypto earning one. And no it is not their own token you earn, instead, they have partnered with JumpTask. So you will be earning JumpTokens. And these you can transfer from the JumpTask site, directly into your Metamask or wallet of choice. This is not to say others do not let you take out your earnings in crypto. There you still have to request a payment and wait for it to be processed. Here you instantly have access to what you have earned. They also provide an extra incentive for you to at least try this. They are for a limited time offering a whopping 50% bonus on your earnings. That is right every 10 points you get, they will give you 5 extra. No matter where or how you gain them. And yes that includes the lucky pot as well.

And they also offer another unique service for you to be able to earn extra points. And that is their Content Delivery service. This is for more intense data usage, such as images, videos, audio or other things that require a more intense data usage. There are of course some demands put on you in order for you to qualify as a Content Delivery provider. But if you are able to qualify and get chosen. You will earn a lot more points by also doing this on top of the normal sharing.
A valued customer
The last thing I would add is that I as a user felt was very good. Has been the support. I have used them several times, mostly when I was starting out. They have been fast in getting back to me and very helpful, obviously. But this goes for the company in general as well. When I reached out to them to see if they would be interested in sponsoring this post. They were fast in getting back to me, very friendly open and supportive, and helpful. And I have to say that was a very rare thing to encounter for me. I think most companies today have a very laxed feel in how they respond to their customers. Many times, I get a feeling that they also have taken the general stance. That if something is wrong it is the customer's fault and you then have to fight to convince them it is not, or you will not get any help. I will get into this in more depth in a future post. But to say the least my opinion of Honeygain would have been above and beyond, no matter if they decided to sponsor my post or not. Simply by how their staff have chosen to engage with and treated me.
They also allow you to use several devices on the same account. But so do basically all other services as well. The same goes for referrals. Al these sites allow you to earn some extra % by referring users to them. The % you earn from your referrals does vary, from site to site. But if you do like me and use all of the sites, you more likely will try and refer a person to all of them. So this should not really be an issue. And I would be remiss to not also mention that Honeygain offer a $5 incentive to new people signing up. While they are not alone in this, the vast majority of companies do not do this.
Everything cant be that good, can it?
But is everything just better or the same with Honeygain? Well, there is one thing that I find they are lacking. And that is if you opt to not use their crypto payment solution. And instead, go with their traditional one. Here you have to earn at least $20 before you can request a payout. And I find this to be on the high end. And several of the other companies have a much lower minimum withdrawal. But me having an issue with this, might also be because the usage of their services, where I live, is not very widespread. Meaning my earnings are probably slower compared to what many others would be able to make.

A second thing that in no way is a big deal. But still, worth to mention. Is the $5 new user bonus. This gets deposited into the "old" wallet. This means you have to earn $15 more in order to be able to get to it. While not an issue in and of itself. It does feel like I would have liked the option of where to put it. What I instead suggest you do, is after the 50% bonus from using the JumpTask wallet has ended. You simply swap back. Earn the extra $15. And then you have tried both ways, and can pick whichever one you liked the most going forward.
Here is a list of all the seven apps that I use, together with a small comment about useful info. Al the links are my affiliate links, and I would very much appreciate it if you would consider using them if you want to sign up:
