When I last posted about my little village in dCity, I was complaining about taxes. An election was on the horizon, and I feared it would bring crippling taxes. Sure enough, that election came and went, and our new high-roller Overlord jacked up the taxes as high as he could! The tax rates were over 50% for his entire two week term! This was extremely disruptive to my income. Half of a lot can still be a lot. But half of very little is even less.
Luckily, he was not elected a second time around. The new President scaled back taxes a little -- to a mere 46% (*grumble, grumble*).
I purchased a Job Center, to try and get some sort of use out of the tax system. When the Jobs Tax is turned on, it doubles the chance for a Jobs Center to train a population into an Artist, Scientist, or Worker. According to the mouseover, my odds for training currently sit at 6%. However, it's been several weeks and I have yet to see any successful training.
I have managed to attract a steady stream of newcomers to my commune, pulling in three Homeless and one Immigrant. Unfortunately, I don't have jobs for these extra mouths and they are now being a draining a bit of my precious trickle of SIM income!

My Weed Farm still steadily generates WEED tokens, though as far as I can tell, these have no use outside of the game. They don't even seem to be available for trade on the Hive or Steem trading engines! But anyway, I have six of them.
My passive income seems minimal overall, and to be fair, my investment was fairly minimal (~44 Hive, which equates to about $10 USD), and of course, I had little idea of what I was doing when I made my initial purchases. But, I was hoping for some sort of 'pull yourself up by the bootstraps' opportunities, but it seems that those are not readily available.
I keep trying to snag somewhat cheaper cards at the Auction, but 1000 SIM isn't going to be enough it seems.

Don't really know where I'm going with this game. I'm reluctant to invest more into it at the moment. There's really not a lot of active engagement aside from accumulating cards and working on min/maxing your city, the latter of which is difficult as a newbie with a low budget. Gerber, the dev for this game, said in Discord that it would be 2-3 months before the next set of Cards would be out. Whether that includes any gameplay additions, I do not know.
I'll probably just sit on it for a while longer checking in daily to see if I can afford a new building aside from a House or Public Restrooms. I'll be sure to post a followup if anything interesting happens.
