Suillus luteus is a species of edible mushroom. A common fungus originating from Eurasia, from the British Isles to Korea, has been introduced extensively in other places, including North and South America, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Commonly referred to as a slip or sticky bread roll in English-speaking countries, its name refers to a brown cap that is characteristically slimy in humid conditions. Suillus luteus is edible, although not as highly valued as other edible mushrooms, and is commonly cooked and eaten in soups, goulash or fried dishes.
