My GOOD Dearest friend @nozem01 lent me a Archmage token so I could test out the Arch Mage bot in WILD format this season. It's something I always wanted but never got around to and now that Chaos Legion is in WILD, I think I actually stand a chance.
But with this experience, I wanted to document it best I could. From what I can gather the bot will play up to 8 ranked battles a day. Since you get 24 energy every 24 hours that means I have 16 Energy per day to use on Modern format. So win win?
So apparently I can't read and it was up to 8 battles an hour lol
1 thing I have yet to figure out though.. is how everyone is affording the $2 entry fee into WILD every 2 weeks. I know it's "only" $1 a week basically but the rewards have to be amazing to justify that right? cause why else would people pay it. I know Whales will sweep the floor of us little minnows but if I earn next to nothing from this season in WILD.. why would I join next season? What am I missing here? Maybe this season will show me what I am missing.
So to better track this bot and if the WILD format is something I will keep doing I devised a plan and will track my progress through this journey. This article is part 1 of 2. Once the season is over I will have a follow up post to explain my thoughts and if I will continue in WILD. (Granted this season will be a little squirrely because it's free so everyone will be playing WILD (but NOT with a bot muahahaha)

Pre Season Info
To better document my season I wanted to get together what Cards and such I have so if you are thinking on testing out WILD or a bot you can base it off of my experience!
I have 2,919.721 SPS staked. It's not a lot and honestly I will most likely end up renting SPS for this season. (actually let me go do that now)
Okay I spent $0.35 to get 50,000 SPS delegated to me. Hopefully that is more than enough to get started!
Also, I have 368 cards across all sets and the total Power of those cards is 38,825.
I should add that some of those cards with decent power are currently working on my LAND so they are not available to be played with.

Let the bot do it's thing!
So out of the gate.. I was happy with the bot. It won 4 games in a row.
Then we took a turn.. for the worse!
(Now this was before I reread the bot config and thought it would only play 8 battles per day.. so I was confused when it kept playing haha)
So you live and learn right? Well the bot kept doing it's thing but about when I got down to 12 energy I changed it to battle twice per hour instead. Figured that was better so it would STOP kicking me out of screens in Splinterlands. I will change it down to once per hour here in a minute actually.
So far the rewards are NOT what I had expected them to be in WILD but I am still in the Bronze league so I need more time.
Big shoutout to @fighter4-freedom. You didn't know it at the time but since you are OBVIOUSLY a whale you filled my SPS rental order.
So now I have 53,000 SPS "Staked" (3,000 of mine and 50k delegated), which should help me get better rewards once I progress some!

Day 1 in the Bag
I started the day with a rating of 400. (I must have played WILD at some point in the past but I do NOT remember doing it).
And this is how I ended the day (well when I left my computer for the day at least)
Rough math here.. I started the day with 50 Energy. I played 1 game manually in WILD and the bot played the rest and its been roughly 12 hours since the bot started.
So starting Energy is 49 (50 - 1 the game I played).
Regained 1 Energy per hour so + 12.
But still have 12 Energy left so -12.
That leaves us with about 49 games played by the bot today. And I increased my Rating from 400 to 660!
I did make it into Bronze 2 which is nice.
And got crap rewards haha.
Day 2 in the bag
Another Day.. Another happy progress in WILD!
I made it into Bronze 1 today and hopefully more to come!
Rewards were trash but that is to be expected in Bronze.
I have decent GLINT rewards so far, at least for me.
I know there is no way this holds up but I am currently on the Leaderboard for Bronze so that is nice.
I have a 60% win ratio which isn't bad, but I guess I expected more. Again though WILD is free this season so there are a ton of people playing it then normally would be.
Initial Thoughts
The bot itself was stupid simple to setup, and it just runs by itself so that is nice. I can just log off my cherokee4life account and log in with my alt account and play Modern with that account and let the bot do it's thing in WILD.
I think this could be my new normal for Splinterlands. But one thing I am still hung up on is how everyone is affording WILD. Like I know it's "only" $2 but that is $1 every week. Sure if you post enough and get decent rewards that covers the cost and then some but still. If you don't get decent return on your investment why keep investing you know?
Time will tell. I think I for SURE have to give it another season to see how it works in a normal season. But stay tuned for my end of season report ;)
The Archmage token I have only costs $2.50 currently on the market so it's not a bad one time investment. But keep in mind that the bot takes 35% of your SPS earnings.. so there is that which could suck for lower players.
