It is still the beginning of the new year and I already passed the first cold, so that is why I am late with the new entry into Splinterlands' share-your-battle challenge.
However let us just deep dive straight into this week's featured monster: Djinn Inferni!
As before my considerations are still based on bcx1 unit considerations in silver league.
-I think this will change with the next unit or the one after, though.

So what are my thoughts this week on Djinn Inferni which is an Epic card of Fire Splinter?
first thought (-): It has rather 'low' health of 4.
second thought (+): This unit has a really good magic attack of 3!
third thought (-): Unfortunately all of this is combined with a rather high mana cost of 7.
fourth thought (o): It has a 'Giant Killer' ability which is really nice, but it is somewhat special as their requirements for triggering are quite high (target needs 10! mana cost to trigger).

Let us look at one of my battles including Djinn Inferni:

Hard facts: Modern format, 28 Mana Cap, Additional Rules: 'Aim True' and 'Noxious Fumes'

I went into battle with a setup serving one mission which is to shield my Forgotten One from as much damage as possible. Secondary objective: Deal some damage (it always is, haha). That is where I thought Djinn Inferni's main strength of 3 magic attack could come in handy.
My opponent went with the somewhat 'usual' Water Splinter mixed setup using Djinn Oshannus as main tank supported by a healer.

After round 1 you could already see where this battle was heading to. Djinn Inferni however does not really deal damage due to Oshannus' magical resistance. Furthermore it attracts the enemy's Opportunity monster which was actually nice in this battle!

Round 2 cleaned a lot of both player's units, including Djinn Inferni which is just a good example that its health is way too low for my taste.

However my plan went well and all units were able to shield Forgotten One from a lot of damage.
With the health left here you could already see who would win the fight. (Poison damage of round 4 is still to be dealt.) Hint: I won!

So all in all what are my final considerations about Djinn Inferni? -To me it is a unit that is not really useless, but it needs some external support, though. The Inferni has a really big weakness which is its low health for the cost of 7 mana. Therefore I see Djinn Inferni's best usecase scenarios in matches where its health is somehow levied by rulesets like it is in 'Equalizer' ruleset.
Its ability is interesting to me, but is somewhat very 'special' as well as it needs some requirements to be met to trigger at all.
