I've Completed The Zingtober Challenge - Art and Crypto

By PVM | Mind Puzzle | 11 Nov 2024

The Zingtober Challenge is the Holozing event prepared for Inktober, with a list of prompts and a big bucket of rewards! There will be an official soulbound Zingtober achievement that will be given out to participants based on activities! I went all in and completed the challenge!

There will be 4 unique achievements a participant can obtain, depending on how many daily prompts were completed. The Holozing team will also be curating through upvotes most entries of participants putting in effort and then after the event allowing participants to claim the achievement for passive zing collection rewards tied to the soulbound NFT!

I dived straight in and created a story that will link to the prompts! You read above the first seven days, as the first chapter of this Holozing inspired saga. There's more to come as the challenge gets harder. I plan to cover all 31 prompts and the best way was to turn it into a story.

Writing one article per day with the prompted art was not difficult! The hard part was to fit the art into the story and maintain the mystery throughout the adventure. Every week I collated the images and segments of the story into bigger chapters to make it easier to read.

However, beyond the hustle for prizes and fun... there's the guaranteed bounties gained each day. Some posts had more success, while others got only few tips. I do believe it was linked to the quality of the art, as those good drawings made the post more rewarding. I've done 31 drawings and posted one per day, as a story.

Zingtober wasn't time consuming and brought fun, engagement and rewards. I've done a mid-month review, and analyzed how well it went for the first 15 days.... so here's the full and final report! It was the journey not the destination that made it special!

There were big prizes allocated for all participants, and even for those that completed only segments of the challenge. I wanted one of those NFTs that will perpetually $ZING, and this is why I went for the full month of drawing and posts. I earned $21.40 in HIVE tokens in the first half of October, and not sure if this was good or bad!

The shares on Hive web3's like InLeo or D.Buzz, plus the weekly chapters, added $14 more into the pot. Can $35.40 be considered a good crypto bounty by a content creator? Let's check the earnings from the second half of the month, when the posting went into auto-pilot!

Zingtober Day 16 - Grungy (Totem) : $2.83 in tips

Zingtober Day 17 - (Unknown) Journal : $1.26 in tips

Zingtober Day 18 - Ride (Of A Lifetime) : $1.71 in tips

Zingtober Day 19 - (The Cat On The) Ridge : $3.62 in tips

Zingtober Day 20 - Uncharted (Lands) : $0.58 in tips

Zingtober Day 21 - Rhinocheros (Peaks) : $0.43 in tips

Zingtober Day 22 - Camp (Ahead) : $1.27 in tips

Zingtober Day 23 - Rust (And Decay) : $0.23 in tips

Zingtober Day 24 - Expedition : $1.90 in tips

Zingtober Day 25 - Scarecrow (Of Sorrow) : 0.10$ in tips

Zingtober Day 26 - (Antique) Camera : 1.24$ in tips

Zingtober Day 27 - Road (Towards The End) : $0.76 in tips

Zingtober Day 28 - Jumbo (Kitten) : $1.43 in tips

Zingtober Day 29 - Navigator (Of Truth) : $1.30 in tips

Zingtober Day 30 - Violin (Notes) : $0.15 in tips

Zingtober Day 31 - Landmark (And The Beginning) : $0.07 in tips

The whole Zingtober event was fun and relaxing, and the $HIVE earned is a bonus. I noticed an increase in rewards, and thought that some started to like the twists and plots I added in the story. The second half of the month helped me to accumulate some crypto, earning $19.07 solely from the daily post. It was a weird mix, as some posts were tipped well and some being totally ignored!

The three chapters I done between day fifteen and the end of the month were tipped with $13.55, while the shares on Hive web3's like InLeo or D.Buzz added $17.33 worth of Hive into my balance. All together takes the half-month to $49.95, a 41% improvement from the starting fifteen days.

Let's summarize it in style! I made 31 drawings after the official Zingtober prompts, and published one article per day as per the competition criteria. Made them link up into a story, and the readers could see how the young adventurer went into a journey that help him uncover many secrets. The result was surprisingly productive, in both engagement and crypto earnings.

We all know that crypto creators are not earning well this days, and Web3 is not the El Dorado we expected. However, earning $88.35 from short articles and having fun was a priceless experience. What's next? Go bigger or go home! I will expand the novel and make it a proper story... maybe even a good old paper-back edition! LFG!
