Dogecoin (DOGE) has seen a significant decline from its peak earlier in the year, but its price movements are consistent with the broader trends in the cryptocurrency market. Despite the correction and sideways trading, DOGE continues to garner positive sentiment from traders due to its popularity as the largest meme coin.
Crypto analyst Astronomer believes that DOGE is showing technical strength that sets it apart from other cryptocurrencies, particularly since the fourth quarter of 2023. This suggests the potential for DOGE to recover and perform well in the near future.
Astronomer’s analysis, shared on social media platform X, highlights that DOGE's price structure since Q4 2023 demonstrates resilience. The recent market cycle, which began in Q4 2023 following the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs by BlackRock and others, ended a prolonged bear market, sparking bullish sentiment across the crypto market. This led to significant price increases for many cryptocurrencies, pushing them to multi-year highs. However, while some cryptocurrencies have corrected below their Q4 2023 levels, DOGE has managed to stay above its Q3 2024 price.
Currently, DOGE is trading at $0.1057, a 29% increase from the start of the year, but a 52% decrease from its yearly high of $0.22. It has also fallen 12% from its Q3 2024 opening price of $0.121. Astronomer suggests that if DOGE can break through a new local high, it could mark the return of bullish gains.
Regarding future price targets, analyst predicts that DOGE could double its current value, surpassing $0.22 by the end of the year. Astronomer is even more optimistic, suggesting that DOGE could reach $0.26, which would represent a 145% increase from its current price. Although there are resistance levels to overcome before reaching $0.22, the analyst remains confident that breaking this level could trigger a sustained upward movement, bolstering the bullish sentiment around DOGE.
