In my previous articles I expressed my impressions about the new Blockchain and Social Hive Network.

My Thoughts about Hive & Steemit

Hive.io - The New Steemit

Hive was born by the Steemit fork, this product of an escalation of conflicts between the current owner of Steemit.Inc, Justin Sun and the ancient witnesses of Steemit.

Who are the witnesses?

Steemit bases its consensus on the DPoS protocol, where users, exercising the power of their vote (according to the number of staked tokens), choose 20 users who will exercise their functions as primary witnesses. They will be in charge of managing the ecosystem, generating and storing the blocks of blockchain transactions, in addition to serving as guarantors of user behavior and preventing abuse, plagiarism, etc.

I consider that the greatest strength that the nascent Hive has is that it is a Blockchain - Social Network, which is born with a consolidated, active user base and that will not need the process of adaptation to the ecosystem.

This new Decentralized Social Network promises to offer all the advantages, services and improvements available in Steemit, but without the dictatorial pressure that was created with the presence of Justin Tron.

True Decentralization?

Many detractors of this recent Fork, declare that there was never a true decentralization in Steemit, since the power resided in those 20 witnesses, who with the support of the powerful vote (Large amount of SP, Steem staked) of the "Whales" could remain within the first 20 positions of the ranking within the more than 100 available witness nodes.

While this theory may have some truth, the whole picture has darkened since the arrival of Justin Sun as Steemit's buyer. Inc.

Collusion.

This was what we were able to witness when Justin, with the support of Binance, Poloniex and Huobi, used Tons of STEEM (belonging to the users of these exchanges) to PowerUp a couple of accounts and then vote supporting 20 newly created witnesses. nodes.

This dishonest move not only changed the rules of the game in Steemit, but also exposed the weaknesses of DPoS-based distributed ecosystems.

New times, New Horizons.

The acceptance of Hive by the community has been as expected.

The publications do not stop appearing. blocks are generated without problems. The new Blockchain Hive looks great.

The level of acceptance will continue to grow with the MIGRATION of the Dapps that are currently running on the Steem Blockchain, to Hive.

The famous platform stateofthedapps.com allows to consult and monitor the progress of the migration process at the following link:

Currently the percentage is low but the developer teams are working on adapting the code to the new blockchain.

I estimate that in the next few hours this percentage will increase, due to the similarity between the two blockchains and the fact that the same consensus mechanisms are used.
