Top Money Books

By Hipster Finance | Hipster Finance | 19 Jan 2021

I posted yesterday about my favorite finance/investing related podcasts, which I used to level up my money knowledge in 2020.

In addition to using podcasts, I used books to increase my knowledge base about investing and personal finance.  I made it a goal to read two finance related books every single month of 2020, and have continued that goal through 2021.

There are so many people out there who don't read or struggle to make time.  For me, the easiest way to make it a habit was to set aside 10 minutes in the morning and 5-10 at night before bed.  This guaranteed I'd at least get 15 minutes of reading done a day.

'What book should I read?' is perhaps one of the questions I'm asked MOST, next to what podcast should I listen to.  So, I share these with you now.

Each of the above books sits on my shelf, the inside underlined and circled.  Notes jotted on the pages from my thoughts while reading.  I think you could pick any from the list and be satisfied with what's inside.

I was really surprised how many ideas reading books about money would inspire.  I often also took notes on a pad next to me while reading.  Half the time the ideas had nothing to do with the book itself, but more about what it inspired in my own life or future.

Each book gave me something - whether it was inspiration for mindset, strategy for building cash flow, or a reminder of the power of budgeting.

If you're new to personal finance, or just looking to expand your reading list, give them a try.

And feel free to share any I've missed below.  I'm still on my journey to read 2 per month, so I'll need more book recommendations.

Until next time.
