Mission $RUNE - hey, you'd be Thor too... inspired (and thwarted) by Atomic Wallet Coin

Hey cyberpunks we adore you!   Atomic Wallet Coin opened my eyes to altcoin growth.  OK, bitcoin went up ~10%, but meh.  Igor and the Atomic team gave us AWC as a contest prize on June 30th, when AWC was hanging around 67 cents.  As of today, the wonderful Coin Gecko has it at $1.65. Woah darling. Come seven come eleven, daddy's baby needs new shoes.  Plus that AWC is now staked on Atomic wallet, and has increased itself by ~0.2%.

Clearly the altcoin game is to get in on that first giant pump somehow, then have the brains to bail before the dump.  And clearly DeFi is the hot topic right now - billions coming in, and lord knows if Grandma won't buy bitcoin she won't even consider Atomic Wallet Coin.  She won't even know the difference between a coin and a token, poor thing.

We probably should just grab more AWC.  But there, we have some issues with Atomic right now.  Number one - we can't buy Atomic Wallet Coin on atomic wallet?  WTF, eat your own dog food, dudes !!??!!

here we are in Atomic Wallet, looking under Exchange -

Cannot find those cute AWCs anywhere under instant exchange.  Huh.  OK how about "buy crypto?"

No, can't find a way to buy Atomic Wallet Token there either!??  Why not ? the trust is shaking, then all the little nits start piling up.   The AWC we won is based on ETH, not BNB.  Which is totally fine with us, we love Vitalik over Changpeng Zhao.  Binance rules as the best exchange, but exchanges are having their lunch eaten by DeFi as we speak, and ETH 2.0 is gonna roll BNB.  But Eth based AWC won't give a live price in Atomic Wallet.  OK we could exchange ETH AWC for BNB AWC, but why?  fix it in the mix for us Atomic.  Not a biggie, but then the history function in Atomic wallet needs work, it shows 0 AWC coming in, the bit of compounding interest shows as 0 coming in as well.   And now the Atomic referral game is shut down - which is fine, but could have been more graceful and trust inspiring.    Still love ya Atomic.  But it is also clear that  decentralization, a distributed approach to risk, a diverse portfolio all make sense, especially when dealing with high risk high reward altcoins ( please don't let OURS turn out to be sh-tcoins.)

So, who's about to pump ?  Doing deep research - a quick scan through Publish0x and Reddit, we find very freaking few mentions of $RUNE.  Hey, I always loved Thor.   Let's buy a bag o altcoins.

First stop - Atomic Wallet.  Can you sell us RUNE?   no.... hmm. Right there in exchange, no way to dial up exchange for RUNE.  Smart money says take the biz to Binance, but we can't be arsed.  We are spoiled now.  We'd rather have the perceived security of non-custodial exchanges built into the wallet just like Atomic... hmm.

Trust wallet, an Atomic competitor, handles RUNE right now.  We have an old Trust wallet ! Yay ! uhmn, no.  Apple has forced Trust to remove the Dapp functionality to comply with the channel rules of the mighty Apple.  Ahh... that blows.    But frankly, never found a reason to do anything much with the Trust wallet.  Trust advises us to use Android - no, we don't think so thanks no thanks.

But wait - an article in the trusty Publish0x to the rescue.  We are morons maybe ? it turns out we CAN buy Atomic Wallet Coins in Atomic Wallet ( duh! ) they are just hidden under the Settings gear!?!  Why ?  that could well be the way around the Apple edict.  OK, wth, let's run back to Atomic.   Hmm looks like Atomic can handle RUNE coin as well, just won't exchange or stake directly with them.  That's ok, but right now ?

044789ae75925fd2473bf24cedb2eee82ec0f72deb34afe4208d919dc684480e.pngWe buy more of that tasty AWC today.  From inside Atomic wallet.  And then we stake it.  From inside Atomic wallet, with apologies for taking so long to figure out how to buy it.

But what about that RUNE ?   well, the Thor miesters say Atomic handles RUNE

and we still see RUNE as about to pop.  Just like AWC but diversified in the crazy high risk area.  We will scrape up another fifty bucks and return to RUNE, using Atomic Wallet to integrate with the RUNE stakers.   So overall?  Funny how the fifty USDC lost sixty cents in ETH getting to Atomic Wallet, and then the exchange process to BNB to AWC shaved another couple of bucks off the value.  But it felt smooth and safe.   And another 5% rise in AWC makes up for that.  C'mon DeFi baby, you are the most beautiful thing in a weird world right now...

Love,
Dave
