OK TBF the real reason is the SEC kneecapped Grayscale AND the BTC market by refusing to allow BTC spot ETFs.
It's funny, in the entire world of commodities, ONLY crypto has future ETFs allowed without spot ETFs. The ETFs are the ordinary persons way into any security. The spot market determines the price of the futures market, it's just the way it is. The spot market is always bigger and more important than the futures market. By allowing the futures ETF but not a spot ETF, the SEC leaves bitcoin open to manipulation. How can you tell? Because they say the SPOT market would be open to manipulation. BULLLLLLLLLL CHIT, that's exactly backwards and sideways - only the active spot market keeps the futures markets from being manipulated. 
Bigger funnies still!! OK everybody knows BTC has been insanely stable for a while now. Why? WHY??? Theories abound!!
There is the thought that everyone is trying to beat BTC out of the hands of the shrimp army, they just can't beat it below 16K or 17K though. But they keep trying!! Or some chillingly say the big fiat banks now manipulate the BTC futures price in collusion with the gummint, seems possible but crazy. Tho TBF don't many gummints do it for all the big markets already? Japan we are looking at you too!!
Ahh we want a more FUN theory!! The really big boys know this, Raoul Pol knows, but they DON'T TALK ABOUT IT. The REAL reason BTC is stable?? Cuz the REAL REAL reason it was UN stable is that Sammy was the ringleader of a giant band of merry jackarses that manipulated the price up and freaking down all the $#$(*$# time. Sammy's FTX encouraged price manipulation, led PRIMERS and HACKATHONS in price manipulations. Sammy got in trouble with CZ for taking his market manipulation game to Binance, fer chrissakes!! Sammy reimbursed traders that got burned when certain sleazy things happened in price manipulations!!!!
Consider THAT theory boys n girls!!! Sammy SOLD the market manipulation playground service to all the cheeziest crypto hedge fund operators in the WORLD!! Sammy & pals LED THE ATTACK on Luna!!! Screwed ICP out of the GATE with a world famous CLASSIC whipsaw!!! And played whaley games all day and night including of course with BTC!! 
Who traded on FTX? Galois, the ones that led the LUNA short, was caught with billions on there!! FTX led the LUNA D'oh kwan death trip!! Three Arrows LOVED FTX!! & dear readers know Sue and Kyle got barred by forex traders for being sleazebags!! & let's face it even the regular hedge funds are total sleazebags on REGULATED markets, IMAGINE what they all got up to together on FTX!!
and THEN, one fine day, piff, this giant avenue for crypto market manipulation got shut down. Pop quiz!!! Spot the volatility slowdown on BTC's price action!! Yeah, BTC dropped a little. but then, ar ar ar AH HA HA HA HA it FLATTENED OUT!!! NO FTX MANIPULATION NO VOLATILITY
TLDR: Ya CAN'T unsee it baby!!! ah ha ha ha ha!!

At one Killers or chainsmokers? concert at Warsaw in Brooklyn at the Polish Old Folks home. One ex soviet bloc bouncer a scared us to this day - he would not even stamp your hand. He just looked into your eyes once and you knew you were recorded, judged & categorized baby!!! & he had a plan to put you down if there was trouble. On the upside, the ladies contingent sold kielbasa and dumplings after the show like it was church ah ha ha ha!!
