Hey crypto fans, we love you. Really, truly, thanks for separating money and state in an epic play for the good of the human race. But it is time now to say greed is good, DeFi is eating exchanges, and modern DEX Dapp wallets are so clearly the way forward they shine like a beacon. And what does that beacon light up? why, it is coins from those wallets, representing the race inside the race that is DeFi. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the future, the only two coins that matter right now - Atomic Wallet Coin and $RUNE from Thorchain. Take em, stake em, and rake em in baby.
Earlier this week we bought AWC inside the Atomic Wallet. The interface to buy AWC was counter intuitive, only found inside 'the sign of settings" hah, not in buy or trade or exchange. But once nabbed, those AWC coins staked cleanly and are compounding away in the AWC.
Most of the few folks buying RUNE coin to stake use Trust wallet on Android, think Trust can then use Binance. We don't trust Droid so had to run straight to Binance and back. Looks like we could have somehow opened Atomic to Binance, but oh well, trash another dollar of ETH gas money. Now we have forced RUNEs back into the Atomic wallet where they look great:
sbut we cannot stake RUNE inside Atomic Wallet. So, we have to open the Atomic wallet to the Runevault. People say you can do this, but it looks like only on the phone version of Atomic, this desktop mac won't do it smoothly.
So let's replicate our desktop wallet on a phone version of the app. Or, actually, after thinking about it, the future of privacy in the age of Etherscan is to have a boatload of different wallets. And, how much do we trust RUNEvault really to link to our wallet and not rummage thru it?
so we send the RUNEs off to live standalone in the mobile wallet. That's fine ! looks like the gas fees will be a lot less than sending Bitcoin to Binance was, only 1.2 cents ? wow is BNB that much cheaper than ETH network? Oh, no, wait, Atomic will not verify the general Atomic wallet address to accept RUNE. OK, thank you Atomic Wallet ! maybe it should have worked... or maybe Atomic just saved me from sending 35 bucks off to cybernowhereville. We dial in the SPECIFIC RUNE address and try again, success !!
The RUNES are sitting in the mobile Atomic wallet. We go to the "sign of settings" and open up wallet connect, looks all kosher. With RUNEVAULT on the laptop, we run wallet connect on the Atomic mobile, we scan the QR code on runevault, we are asked for permission, say yes looks good !
So now the Atomic wallet says it is linked to Runevault. And Runevault for it's part quits displaying the QR code. But that, dear friends, is IT. From the Atomic Wallet mobile side - RUNES are there. Wallet Connect says we are connected to runevault. But of course the staking function of Atomic Wallet knows nothing about RUNEs. And the Runevault side just keeps saying "connect yer wallet."
We go from here to popping up the QR
over
over and over and over. Seems to link, wallet says OK, runevault says add your wallet. We notice there is a pointer to connection issues, we go there and they are saying what to do if your Ledger wallet won't work. Hm.. we suspect they may not currently have a lot of time for the Atomic wallet. But I will not get an Android to run Binance wallet. So, we fade back and punt. We have Runes - they have gone down from 37 bucks to 34 bucks :( all we want to do is stake them with Runevault. Snif.
Sent a hail mary support question to runevault? who do we even ask - thorchain on reddit ? no help chat on RUNEvault that's for sure. Hmm, think about this one. Will probably need a young kid on Youtube to show us how.. but those kids only ever have Androids...
love, Dave
