My weight loss journey: week 1

You know what they say: if at first you don't succeed, there are three more weeks in a month... Or something like that.

A week has gone by since my first post (already!) and it's time to think about my goals and the steps I'm taking to build these new habits before the month's end.

My first goal was to add 0 chocolate to my shopping cart. I managed to achieve it quite easily as I only had to think about the insane amounts of the product that I still have at home. Still I had to use some willpower to resist buying my favorite dessert, which has chocolate and of which I didn't have any at home.

About the other three goals there's both bad and good news. The bad news is I got a nasty cold and I had to spend almost three whole days in bed so I couldn't make it to my 10k steps goal (the first day with said cold I took a whooping 178 steps) and I've had to delay starting my new exercising routine (the one where I do 7 repetitions). I tried to keep up at least with some exercise but lifting my arms was painful enough that I just had to stop until I got better. The good news is I got a cold and a sore throat so I've been drinking water (my fourth goal for this month) like my life depended on it.

All in all, a slightly disappointing and kind of unlucky first week but with some small wins that I hope will add to my new, healthier habits.
