So here we are again. After the MetaMask shock, OpenSea disgrace we now have the TornadoCash attack. I take it you all know about the recent outrage and how "decentralized" resources blocked access to several TORN sites and some lap dog of the US arrested it's developer in Amsterdam. If you like me staked your TORN and the sites are down now don't panic, read up here on how to still access your staked funds on the taken down websites via the public endpoints, but here's why you maybe should panic. If you happen to find yourself in fascist-stan aka place and-or district of fascists aka USA, you might want to tread carefully when dealing with Tornado Cash as you could literally be bankrupted with fines and even end up in jail for years. I actually wrote about this exact scenario twice before regarding other countries and how despite the effort China was putting in to hinder crypto adaptation and use, they could really not stop it in itself as the map of users mining Helium proved. And how Russia's central bank which at time time was proposing to criminalize crypto use, really couldn't do anything about it other than go full fascist and as a desperate resort threaten insane fines or jail time to citizens who interacted with it, but as things stand now it's the United States and it's Dutch partner in crime who have sunk to new and unseen levels. Behold, this is their definition of "freedom and democracy" in practice.

I think these two said it best, this indeed is the war on people's privacy, a continuation if you will of the war they started in early 2000s with that "patriot act" thingy. The cringe level on that was insane btw, what were they thinking? "Let's call something that's a complete violation of basic rights, freedom and individual sovereignty with the word 'patriot' so that this way no one will notice or dare to oppose it". What are they gonna call this, the "Bald Eagle Act?"😂 I hate to break it to you, but just clinging to your guns like madmen while not even caring when these things happen won't cut it, not as they are literally killing your freedom and independence by mere pen strokes and you're all just watching it happen while thinking to yourselves "oh well, thank gawd we still got the 2nd amendment huh".

But there's something to be said here about all those affected with the consequences, just like 10 years ago when they also wanted to limit the global internet with their dictatorial laws. Back then they were targeting the free and open parts of the internet, now they are targeting the privacy part. The 2012 internet protests were global because the effects of the bills were not limited to solely the United States but would indeed limit internet globally, this crackdown on TORN went global from day one. Well, maybe not entirety "global" as I'd doubt the bulk of South American, Asian or African countries would abide by the arrest orders, just the parts of the world that describe itself as the "international community" that ironically enough also claim to represent the "free" world🙃

Don't abide, resist. And by that I don't mean 'resist because the war criminal woman I voted for lost to some guy from TV and even though nothing really changed we must become resistors and write daily online posts about him and his family'. No I mean for the sake of us all and the true definition of freedom, independence, privacy and above all the future of decentralized cryptocurrency, stand up, act now and resist.✊
