Before the Fall, conferences in HK were kinda fun!! The people working there were free-wheeling, fast moving and future oriented!! We sold a bunch of tech to Lehman (lol) staffers there !! They RIPPED OUT the old stuff to put ours in, cause they HATED their inhouse providers!!!
After HK became Chinese, going to conferences like that became a chore. Everyone was afraid to say anything anytime, we swear. Before the new airport, landing in old hong kong was the scariest big plane experience ever!! The pilot would zoom in low low over the harbour filled with houseboats lashed together!! Then stand the plane up on one wing, seemingly shoot sideways between two buildings, level out and drop down to land!! Pow you were IN the city!!
