FT crypto counterpoint Aug 5

Dearest intrepid cryptonauts, we love you!  We missed y'all!!  Hope life is good and the night is young for you and yours. 8325bed4272b16e4b8a97d3cad4b488bac571dddfce405a9f7c14135c24d9f39.png Love and thanks for changing the fabric of FT crypto, one chit click at a time, fams.

We're gonna all need luck and love. Yesterday was tough.

Truely, the ESG diktat of the IMF was well covered in the FT yesterday.  The assistant director dictating energy and fiscal policy to the elected leaders of all the former nations.  A SAD day.  Wall street chestnut #4857:  If you are an ASSISTANT director, just keep working and don't tell anybody your title.  STFU throwing around the massive  weight of that Ass. Dir. chit.  Great reporting, but such depressing content. There is no way for any voter to influence the IMF, let alone reach the third vp working for the AD that wrote the press release to kill sixth generation farms. 36353c5a2eeb9080126d2e58156273f89831cc05c56717c2195305c900d86f54.png

It's funny, old Salomon Brothers would use the Wall Street Journal as a house organ.  Before email, having major announcements about senior staff & policies printed in the WSJ was the quickest way to inform most of the important people.  Better than handouts or auditoriums.  Now the juniors at the IMF tell media to tell the elected leaders how to treat the little people.  We haven't come a long way, baby.

Hard to write now WHERE is the LOVE!!??  Well here. Black eyed peas did a terrible super bowl show, just above Madonna ( Prince was the best, Lady Gaga #2.) The Peas DID write THIS beauty with Justin Timberlake.

Stick to the CRYPTO coverage on the FT, stay on the PATH.

Crypto news that don't say crypto:  Inflation times three, plus recession, rate hikes AND unemployment!  Shocks, pessimism, slagging the BoE.  Light humor break- Argentina greets the THIRD Finance Minister in one month!!   Tiger blames %50 losses on INFLATION!  Wait, shouldn't it have gone up ON PAPER??!!??  ROFL.  On institutional corruption, watchdogs are after Goldmans' credit card division ?? us neither, rich people's problems require rich solutions.  Mitt Romney's Bain capital is SO EVIL they can't bid in South Africa anymore lol.  Here's non crypto crypto:429b7128c8c0e5b5fd7c5f5889797262d762d5a1a78af69b3a92bef09b86e659.pngTLDR: Janet Yelling's best stand-up is when she testifies that she does not want the Fed to be audited.  Well, she IS telling the truth ! Even tho the truth is all central banks should be audited. The dogs in the street know that the RBA in Oz blew it, and here comes the dissection.  New Zealand went mea culpa straightaway. Great article Sophia thanks, TWO thank yous.

Repeats from ONLINE  - The FT paper printed the feel good Coinbase / Blackrock now loves crypto story.  Heavily, perfectly edited to show off the new last line "...money laundering. That's all it is!"  Ok we hear your bias struggling to shine through.  WHAT a SURPRISE SURPRISE, there JUST wasn't enough room to mention Blackrock running all of Circle's 54 BILLION in short term debt.  AND short term debt requires a lot of flipping. just sayin.  Prejudice is SHOWING we SEEE YOU!!!

Yesterday's Nine Blocks origin story - the Henri moves to Crypto Dubai storyline  shines on dead trees.  Yaayyyyy!!

Lex's illogical attack on crypto firms and Microstrategy treasuries holding BTC made print too.  Booo!!  The folly of not having ANY crypto exposure is being repeated less and less and less these days, pal.

ONLINE at the FT GOOD NEWS!!!e12369874050746c7b6454831d756c97a910cb7c17b4b0d77f45c7cf932ed8ad.pngTLDR: First joke about crypto lovers being 10-a-penny breathless, then invoke mysticism, ok.  From that low starting point it's all downhill. Will the shift to PoS work #$(*#$ we hate that acronym.  How about Proof of Validation, PoV?  please anything.

Alex the Digiconomist has high hopes.  Vagus nerve convulses, dumps adrenalin, back muscles start to burn.  Who's Alex?  Three guesses, peeps, might it just possibly be another vicious bitcoin hater the FT hopes to promote to us 1.25 millions?

Damn straight, good call. Alex makes his living blogging hate on bitcoin, h-ll he hates on dodgecoin now. Which is hilarious, cause Alex used to write a Dogeconomics column.  Alex is another meh blogger who noticed going 100% anti crypto got him establishment attention.  Around 2018 he quit writing anything except hash rate power consumption guesses.   Don't be like @(#$& Alex. 95f6c37ff7395f32e66b76ec6b9a86b52aac6abb04c66e2c1da4da826b4d3aa6.pngHere's an example of Alex groveling for BTC hate.  Remember kids mining is RAAAACCCCIIISSSSSSSSS. Sorry, CLLLLAAAAASSSSSSIISSSSSSSST.   ##($&* you Alex.  That picture is southern Texas, Big Bend-ish.  So freaking hot nothing matters.  If a miner ran solar it would be the best thing that happened there, ever.  Even for the rattlesnakes.  The picture has NOTHING what so EVER to do with the article of course.   Lets focus on that pic for a sec.  When y'all are there, ya realize what you are looking at.  That mesa used to be an island.  Y'all are standing on the dry lake/ocean bed of the past.  Those endless vistas were seas. Which dried up long before man came over the land bridge.  THATs an environmental challenge baby.  Quit fooling.  All the carbon credits in the universe can't help big bend national desert. Human sacrifices neither.

Eth power burn now = Finland. Who cares ? Good for new finland, welcome to life.    Should do a 99% (sic) power drop. Regulators are drooling, esp. in Sweden,  to slam the BTC banhammer. Last year, the EU lawmakers almost banned mining.  Alex is happy, "crackdown" coming. 184d257485fba16e05b62e25ba50426bd45a95c0e8eb057a1b3a0aabf8e9446c.png

The Swedish gummint spins it nicely: "protect sustainable crypto coins. "  By banning the rest!!!    TBF, FT mentions plenty of bitcoin defenders, BTC never was hacked.

At the end, the FT sez the Merge may be a success but ESG criticism of crypto won't go away, it will get worse.

The REAL story:  like writing a negative performance review that won't get you sued, the art of spinning ALL crypto news as 100% negative at the FT has risen to an exquisite skill level.   The depressing pic, breathless / mystical intro, followed by a long slide down through elevating YET another BTC HATER to land in a pile of calling for regulation.  Nasty bit of work.

ETH 2.0 will be %99.95 more energy efficient.  If ya wanna round that to two  or even three!! sig digs, eds, that would a 100.0% energy savings.  Thanks.

Orange Pill Max, in EARLY international news  ~2012  had some post grad student type on his show recording from Oxbridge.  He wore a nice rumpled shirt sweater and tie, but he looked sallow, maybe ciggies, chips and alky, pasty skull face, staring eyes, bad teeth.  Real Brit. His message?  Snickering like Muttley, Snidley Whiplash's dog?? 7efe10d4456ab94ad051a0e0e1a12e62d7a6e33eb7cc9c6cd4af0685c1450041.png The kid was just saying, over and over "Bitcoin is released, it's out there, there's nothing THEY can do about it, hee hee hee NOTHING!" Nyuk yuk yuk.

Muttley & that  guy will forever stay with us as we laugh at the FT.  "Oh the EU almost BANNED it last year you know."  "Sweden is just waiting!" $#(#*$&#(* all yall.   6% -9% of the UK uses crypto.  That's retaded compared to 15% worldwide, but who cares?  Nobody can ban anything.  Crypto jacking alone will never die, just multiply.  Don't get yer knickers in a twist.  France and the Dutch and Italy & others are economically beating the UK like a gong on Binance crypto, that's about all the power regs have.

Let's try again, with love this time. HERE's the FT story y'all deserve!!!   headline Eth rises to glory!  Crypto and smart contracts soar above the last conceivable objection!!!

Dateline: London.  Vitalek said if Eth was genius, Eth 2.0 is all the love of a thousand geniuses together.  Most adore the 100,000 transactions per second sharding scalability for faster cheaper better smart contracts.    We are thrilled by the immaculate beauty and logic of the security ciphers, unhackable core protocol,   pretty d-mn distributed.  An apropos motif154d84511b642a358e0909f447ee2aeb05f3931d7b25a395e9a82d60cc8e219d.pngIt's not as deep as a well.  ETH 2.0 ran on test net Ropstein, where dear readers know we still hodl BUTT coin.  2.0 was released as the Beacon Chain, in parallel on the mainnet.  Now looking d-mn good, we will switch over.  Crypto has defied all efforts to ban it, and the Merge is another huge leap forward.  There's even a  penny for the haters: ETH 2.0 is %99.95 more efficient, destroying the final straw that even quasi rational crypto haters COULD hide behind.

There, fixed that. We won't even depress dear readers with all the FU's the FT's version stacks high.

In other newsletter updates,  Ripple tells the FT they are STAFFING UP >60%.  d38980c28ebe540539bf5c6e39cfd0311e4febcdd2eab76adf2ba6b918a7fe7b.pngIsn't THAT worth a nice print story FT?   Oh of course not. That'll stay hidden online only.

Sandeep from Polygon tells Solana losers to stay strong.  Too soon Sandeep, now we hate Polygon being happy.

Finally, BTC dominance remains about the same.  Duh.

That's it, intrepid readers, we are FT cryptodawgs again now. c9842b3a84c20ee0153343217e282a18f914b248888ee826bbab1b4870dd8df8.png Or fleas.

Peace out,  here is the love,

Love

Dave

National Merit got this punk rocker to Oberlin, and Wall Street fintech gave up world tours and an NYU MBA. I am a Bitcoin true believer. Bitcoin is deeply revolutionary in a way we always prayed tech would be. Keep the baby Faith!

FT WATCH - the Financial Times on Crypto!!!
FT WATCH - the Financial Times on Crypto!!!

The WSJ turned into USA today - which leaves the FT at the top of the heap for serious financial news! Join us for a semi-serious monitoring of the FUD & hate the FT now showers on crypto. Dear readers know we love that pink newspaper but boy howdy does the FT despise crypto--- it's funny. The old guard always fights the new guard. The FT does it eruditely, with misleading comments, fun graphs, and outright lies (usually) attributed to crypto's greatest enemies!
