The Largest Crypt Exchange has been the victim of a more serious hacker attack for the first time since its inception. On her official site, she confirmed that she lost 7,000 BTCs, or more than $ 41 million.
Changpeng Zhao, chief of the stock exchange, in the official press release published on Binance, assured customers that they did not have to worry about losing their cryptocurrencies on the stock market.

On the day we discovered a serious violation of our security. Hackers were able to access a large number of user API keys, 2FA codes, and potentially other information. Hackers have used a variety of techniques, including phishing, viruses, and other forms of attack. We're still trying to identify all the ways they used. There may be other affected accounts that we haven't been able to identify yet.

The above transaction (related to this attack) only affected our HOT wallet (which contained only about 2% of our total BTC holdings). All our other wallets are safe and undamaged.
Hackers had the patience to wait and execute well-organized transactions through multiple seemingly independent accounts at the most appropriate time. The transaction is structured in a way that has passed through our existing security controls. We regret that we were unable to block this transfer before it was executed. After its implementation, various alarms have been triggered in our system. We immediately stopped all selections.
Binance will use the #SAFU Fund to cover the full loss of the incident. No user resources will be affected.
We must conduct a thorough review of our security. This will include all parts of our systems and data, their amount. We estimate that it will take about a week. We will keep you updated on how we proceed.
Most importantly, withdrawals and deposits must be suspended during this period. Please understand.
We continue to offer trading to adjust your positions if you wish. Please note that hackers can still check some user accounts and can use them to influence prices. We will closely monitor the situation. However, after blocking the withdrawals, we think that hackers have little reason to influence the market.
