Why did Cosmos ATOM surge?

You may wonder why Cosmos ATOM surged in the last two weeks. See metrics on Feb. 16:

The reason is: Stargate update on Feb. 18...

It is a major step for interoperability, with huge impact on all the protocols using Cosmos.

This update has also impacted the other smart contract blockchains which compete against Ethereum: Polkadot and Cardano.

That's a snowball effect, boosted by the outstanding Ethereum fees.

Despite some temporary corrections, Cosmos ATOM, Polkadot and Cardano might continue to surge for weeks... If the whole cryptoworld does not collapse... Daddy Bitcoin will decide.
