Is it Moon Time?
Is it Moon Time?

Until the last year or so it hasn’t been very easy neither compelling for someone to USE blockchain applications or cryptocurrency beyond value speculation, trading, and “frowned upon” activities. Now with the access to a few super cool apps both in the Google Play Store and Apple Store, anyone can benefit from using blockchain and cryptocurrency. I believe the next bull cycle will correspond with the next wave of new users.

Do you save money? If so I know you’ll appreciate a 7% APR savings account. Dharma’s new app allows users to leverage MakerDAO’s “risk free rate” using the Dai Savings Rate. The best part is... you never even notice you’re using a blockchain!

Do you ever send money to friends/family on your phone? I’d assume almost everyone has used Venmo, CashApp, Chase Quickpay by Zelle, or PayPal at least once in their life. But what I bet you’ve never experienced is being paid for sending/receiving dollars! You can now do exactly that using Metal Pay.

Have you ever considered obtaining Bitcoin or Ether through mining rather than buying? Mining is tough, it’s time consuming, technically difficult, and has large upfront costs. Now even your grandparents can mine using a CoinmineOne and their intuitive mobile app! It’s a plug and play miner. You order online, ships to your door, take it out of the box, and plug it into the wall. The app and operating system handles the rest. It’s sort of like a Tesla, it receives constant updates to be the most efficient possible.

Gaming on top of a blockchain has proven to be tougher than first anticipated. Several teams are working toward bringing the benefits of complete ownership for in-game items and permissionless usage. The issue comes down to scalability while keeping same level of decentralization and security. To combat this the answer seems to be layer 2 solutions. CelerX has done exactly that with an app available for all to play fun games like solitaire with real money on the line.

Lastly, everyone uses an internet browser. Typically people use Chrome or Safari but they don’t have any interest to preserve your privacy online and they sure as heck don’t pay you to view ads. Welcome Brave Browser, available for your desktop, iOS device, and Android phone. You can opt in or out of ads, and if you opt in your paid for it! They have over 10 million users and use their utility token BAT (Basic Attention Token) to pay users for watching ads. I have been a user for over a year now and have earned hundreds of BAT so far. These BAT can be easily turned into cash in your bank account or another cryptocurrency for free using Brave’s custody partner, Uphold.

If you want to take advantage of blockchain as an end user, these are the best and easiest applications I’m aware of! Give them a try and let me know what you think.
