Today I want to talk about a game I recently came across called God's Glory.

Before we get into it though let's talk about the elephant in the room with all web3 games. This is a "Free to Play" game. However like all other web3 games at this point pretty much you will level up a whole lot quicker and get better rewards a whole lot quicker if you invest some hard earned crypto into it.

Here is what the game looks like (this is my current game)

I am not going to baby you as to what every little thing does but I will give a overview for those who want to take a stab at it.

Resources

There are 3 main resources in the game, each with a building that gathers a specific resource for you automatically. 

Iron - Wood - Food

You will need those resources for a few things.

1) To level up buildings you need resources. So you need to carefully plan out which buildings to upgrade in what order.

2) To train troops. We will get into that later but in order to train troops you need resources (Food is the most needed one for this).

Troops

Speaking of Troops there are 10 types of troops in the game seen here:

Each type of troop is good or bad against certain enemies. But as a free to play player you only get access to the most basic one "Soldier". If you want to be able to train either of the other troops you will need their corresponding NFT (which the cost can range on secondary but think like 60-100 WAX per troop). If you want access to say the "Archer" in game you just need to buy the Archer NFT once and you have access to it in game.

God's and Heroes

I am going to try to keep this as simple as possible to avoid confusion. But each God or Hero is also a corresponding NFT that will need to be bought. I have 2 Gods and 2 Heroes.

My Gods are Anubis and Poseidon

Each God has it's own specific benefits depending on your playstyle. At your account level 1 you can equip 1 God and then at every 10th level you can have 1 more equipped. I am level 12 currently so I have both equipped giving me their bonuses

My 2 Heroes are General and Harald.

What your Heroes are for are for running "missions". Basically as you train troops you can send your Hero and a certain # of troops out on a mission to bring back some rewards like resources or Gold (which we will get into later). Here is a snapshot after I ran 2 missions with my heroes and what I got for loot.

GOLD / $GOD

So in the game you earn Gold but it is a 1 to 1 exchange rate with with $GOD

$GOD is the WAX blockchain token. Gold is what you can earn from running missions and such. You will need Gold to perform research tasks or to do other things like the daily mission (which is SUPER hard). You can swap WAX to get $GOD on exchanges like Alcor or TacoSwap as well and transfer it into the game. You can also transfer out your Gold to GOD at anytime but there is a 4% fee when you withdraw out of the game so keep that in mind.

Other Things of note:

1) This is a click it and come back in 20 minute type of game.

2) There are seasons and if you rank high enough at the end you get good prizes (like Gold from the GOD Pool).

3) Your God and Hero NFT's level up as you use them and those levels stay after each season but your overall Account level and building levels and such get reset each season to make it a little more fair.

4) There are items as well like resource items you can earn in game to redeem for on the spot resources.

5) There is a Android app for this game (like a proper app but you have to go to the website on your Android phone and there will be a direct apk file download for it)

6) On the Android app you can watch ads each day to earn in game rewards like resources and Gold and troops.

7) There is a lot of intricacies with Gods/Heroes/Troops and the enemies as to what works well together so do your research before buying NFT's willy nilly.

8) You can buy "Chests" with your Gold that can have those NFT's I talked about or resources or other things.

10) On their Roadmap for 2025 there is a few cool things that are going to happen and getting in before them is going to give you and me a leg up on newer players to join later.
