It's been a while since I posted about Crownrend and No I haven't stopped playing. I have just been busy with other HIVE projects and posts and wanted to wait until I had an epic article to write!

And with the recent announcement today from Deathwing today on the official Discord, well today is the perfect day to write up a sweet article about my time in Crownrend.

A lot of the posts I have seen have been about if/when people break even on Crownrend or opening an insane amount of chests and all that and it was never really my style (since I already wrote about how I broke even a long time ago😄).

My strategy up until this point was to sell off some $Denar early to recoup my initial investment and then to save my Denar and upgrade my buildings and buy chests when I could but that was basically never. There are some amazing people in the Crownrend community that have given me in game items and it has been such a big help.

Before we get into it. Let's take a look at my current setup:

I have 232 $DENAR to my name as I try to save up as much as I can and only upgrade a building every 2 days (before unrest kicks in) and keep all the rest. I was going to save up to buy 5 chests at once and do a post about it (more on that later 😉)

My Army stats are nothing to write home about but they work for my play style. What I do need it better equipment because mine is 'okay' but not great at all.

Opening Chest Time!

In order to open more chests than the 2 that I can afford right now. I need more $DENAR. So I went to Hive-Engine just to see what $DENAR was running these days and I found out it's dirt cheap! Like REALLY cheap. So I decided to pick up a few Denar..

So I bought 5,000 Denar 😇

But what I didn't take into account was buying ORI. I wanted to open a bunch of chests to:
A) Get better equipment of course but also...
B) Start a Alliance!

You need 0.75 ORI to start an alliance and you get ORI by burning your items or by buying it on secondary. And at the current going price of $ORI I am just shy of enough Swap.Hive.

And that is a bummer. Hopefully I get enough items to burn to make that 0.75 ORI threshold!

Effective today actually there was a change in the Chest Prices ingame. A chest still starts off costing 100 $DENAR like always but after every 10 chests you purchase the price increases by 100 $DENAR.

Here is my quick math of Chest Prices

# of Chests Cost in Denar Total cost for each 10 chests Chests 1 - 10 $100 each $1000 total Chests 11 - 20 $200 each $2000 total Chests 21 - 30 $300 each $3000 total Chests 31 - 40 $400 each $4000 total

And with that math having 5,232 $DENAR that means I should be able to open... 27 chests
10 x $100 = $1,000
10 x $200 = $2,000
7 x $300 = $2,100
which equals $5,100 Denar.

Let's hope that is enough!

So without further ado let's send the Denar into the game:

Opening 27 Chests though getting 1 that is a 3% chance.. is 'okay'.

I may or may not have bought another 5,000 Denar though because I wasn't happy with my Items still.

Alliance Time!

I burned almost all my extra items and still didn't have enough ORI to start a Alliance! So back to Hive-Engine and luckily all I needed was 0.34 ORI and I have just enough Swap.Hive for it!

Now we go to create a alliance, and come up with a name.. Is there really any choice in the naming?

Welcome to my Alliance! This is the first time I am seeing all these screens so I wanted to share it with you all. With the introduction of 'Crowns' this is going to be interesting.

From what I gather, Alliances are going to have to participate in the War's to earn Crowns in order to upkeep their Alliance. I like this change and it requires Alliance members to be active!

It would appear that War's last for 1 week and I will be very interested to see how it plays out. I am glad I got in right before this all started!

Yeah I am a Alliance of 1 member but I am excited to see it grow. (more on that at the end)

With the items I decided to keep and equip I am most pleased with my Denar Earnings now:

That is roughly 8 Denar every 4 hours (how often you can claim) and I have a Vault that Holds 10. Assuming I don't get attacked too much I am going to have to upgrade my Vault Level soon. I may also spend the 100 Denar and upgrade my Mine Level too but we will see. I don't want to earn too much that I am just an easy targe too.

The 1 MAJOR downside though is now in the Battle Hall there are way tougher enemies that I can face. Where I was yesterday I could attack about 80% of the people confidently but now it looks like maybe 20% I would attempt to attack given their Speed.

I am stoked to have 2 Rare items now and 5 uncommon's. I would like to get more Rare's or higher tier items but that will come in time!

Alliances are going to change up my strategy for sure and I am still just trying to figure out HOW it will hahaha.

As a 1 person Alliance I know War's are not going to be my strong suit so I am going to have to get more members here sooner or later..
