1 year ago I bought the Star Atlas space-ships. Star Atlas is a very ambitious Solana metaverse because it will not be the classic "play to earn" but will try to be a "play and earn". People will play Star Atlas because it will be fun and it will allow you to earn. Not just because you earn. This game has had a lot of FUD in recent months because the two tokens (Atlas and Polis) have dropped a lot. These two tokens were launched by an IEO on FTX making an 80x increase, then it was a long decline, also due to the Bear Market. Polis and Atlas capitalize approximately 7 and 9 million market caps. Spaceships have also collapsed as a floor price compared to the original price but it is in general the whole NFT world that has been hit hard by the Bear Market. In the meantime, however, the developments continue and after the first gameplay images, all users who had at least one ship with an "elite" badge (early adopters) were able to try the demo in preview. Before starting with the guide, I will give you two interesting sites (which, however, if you are inside Star Atlas you may already know!). FLEET VIEWER (HANGAR)
You can go to Hangar (Star Atlas) connect your wallet and see your ships in 3D! This is not exceptional but it means that the team is working hard!
TRY STAR ATLAS DEMO
If you have spaceships with "elite" badges, you can claim your codes which will allow you to download the game launcher from Epic Games. That's right, Star Atlas has been listed on Epic Games!
You have to follow these steps:
1) Get your game key from Star Atlas (connect with your wallet, click on the bottom left of your profile photo and click on "claim codes")
2) Redeem your key at Redeem Code (Epic Games)
3) Download the Showroom file (13 GB)
4) Choose your way to enter the Showroom (connect your Phantom / Sollet or Ledger wallet)
I inform you that you need a PC with good hardware features and a good video card. Otherwise you will have difficulty. You won't be able to load the game or it will jerk. To experience the Showroom in all its glory, you will need a computer that meets at least these technical specifications (along with 20 GB of storage space):
-CPU: Intel quad-core or AMD, 2.5 GHz or higher
-Memory: 8 GB RAM
-Graphics card: Nvidia 1080, AMD 5700RX or better
To run it in high quality, I recommend:
-CPU: 8 Intel or AMD cores, 3.5 GHz or higher
-Memory: 32GB RAM
-Graphics card: Nvidia 2070 or higher, AMD Radeon 5700 XT
Mac computers are not currently supported in the Unreal Engine 5 environment.
MY IMPRESSIONS
The graphics level of the Unreal Engine is impressive. The thing that struck me most is the attention to detail. Nothing was left out. The shadow plays of the avatar are impressive, as are the rays of the sun. The internal Hangar is reconstructed in the smallest details. There are breathtaking views thanks to the sun. Even the plants are reproduced in great detail. The music accompanies everything well.
The movement of the character is well accompanied by shadows, the sound of footsteps and the movement is very fluid (if you have slowdowns, update the video card!). My opinion is absolutely positive, even if it is an alpha the work done is wonderful. If I had to make a criticism it is precisely on the manic care of everything.
How long will it take to reproduce the rest of the metaverse? Ships and above all space? Star Atlas is something huge, so complex that it makes you question the timing of development and its full finalization. We know well that the new GTA-type game capitals have 5-6 years of development, Star Atlas is much more difficult and complex. Also because it will have to run on the Solana blockchain. I have read that there are over 100 devs at work. No doubt that IF Star Atlas is finalized... it could become the game of the century!
