Splinterlands Survival Mode - 250k Glint Reward!

During this season, the Splinterlands team announced that they would be conducting a stress test in one of the NFT card game modes, Survival Mode. This is a game mode where once your card is defeated during the match, it goes into cooldown, which makes this mode have a completely different mechanic and strategy from the others, since a very strong card can end up being defeated and you won't get it again unless you wait for the cooldown to end.

Regarding the "event" / "stress test," it will take place in Survival Mode Bracket 4, which currently has 154 players participating. In this quest to test the idea of brackets for future Modern Rank implementation, they are offering up to 250,000 Glint bonuses to those who register for Bracket 4. However, there are some requirements to receive the full prize: the player will need to play 250 matches, have a 50%+ win rate, and submit a feedback form. Furthermore, it seems that Survival Mode itself has a glint pool of 1.2 million that is distributed at the end of the season according to the points obtained by winning matches.

This Bracket is a bit more difficult than the intermediate one, making it possible to use Archons of levels 8, 6, 5, and 3, which already allows for various strategies and combos, since we are talking about almost the maximum level of summoners. So many players might be a little hesitant to participate; I myself thought it wouldn't be possible, but during this event the cooldown time is being reduced, so you can play with your same cards a few hours after they've been defeated.

At times I ended up choosing a team more focused on Gold Foil to get some reward points, and suddenly some very strong Splinterlands bots would appear and eliminate my entire team. A tip is to wait a little for the cooldown to have at least one of your strongest combos available. Also, even if you don't manage to get above 50%, you'll still have a bonus participation of 100k glint, and in the case of the number of matches, it's possible to continue playing as long as there are cards available, so it's not a problem.

Survival Mode Event/Test - 250k Glint Reward! (FeedBack)

This has been my first experience with Survival mode, and since players will need to provide feedback at the end, I decided to combine business with pleasure and write a little about what I've been going through, the positive and negative points, in other words, to give some feedback along with my experience playing Survival mode. That way, on the day the form is submitted, you'll be able to see this post and catch the main points.

The first point of feedback would be the marketing of Survival Mode. I don't know if it was just me, but I believe there was a time when if a card went on cooldown because it was defeated in survival mode, it couldn't be used in other game modes. It seems that this hasn't worked for a while, but I don't remember seeing many people talking about it, and it seems to be a common question among players, possibly explaining why there aren't as many participants.

Another point in this regard is about the rewards. I didn't know there was a glint pool, nor that there was an extra card given to players who participated in Survival mode. I find this idea that each mode ends up having a type of exclusive reward card quite interesting. In the case of Frontier, there are the Foundation Cards; Wild and Modern have the Glint Shop cards; and Survival has the Darkguard Hellion card as a reward. On the Leaderboard, the top rankers earn more copies of this card and also a glint reward.

The next piece of feedback is that there are some moments when a match takes more than 2 minutes to be found, or to be matched against one of the Splinterlands bots. Theoretically, I believe that this matchmaking should be a little faster since the bot option is enabled... I don't see it as a big problem because it's possible to do other things while waiting for the match, but this could be a negative point for other players.

Another piece of feedback about the bots is that some are quite strong. At times, I tried to choose cards focusing more on Gold Foil, or weaker ones since my other cards were on cooldown, and the bots wiped out my team 😅.

I didn't think this could happen, but it's good because players will need to pay attention even against bots; otherwise, the cards will go on cooldown one by one, and you'll end up without your strongest combos for when you're playing against other players.

🐉 Splinterlands Battle vs Duce

The next feedback is another account, that sometimes we face opponents well above our level in the same rating, who end up destroying the entire team at once... Cough cough ducecryptoHive account@ducecrypto... In the match against Duce I noticed that he prioritized speed and blast a lot in his team, but since he used a very expensive summer deck and very expensive units it's very difficult to replicate... In addition, he also used a lot of healing to keep the cards alive. As much as possible.
